Here's some running commentary leading up to the landing. If there are other links that are better please post for the forum.
Cool! I almost forgot about the spacecraft landing today. Amazing stuff. So far away it will take about 15 minutes after it has landed to know it’s landed due to the distances and the speed of light/signal.
Any coverage besides NASA’s stream now. Maybe they’ll have more people on later who won’t make you feel like a third grader.
Having a kid that works in the space industry at a NASA facility, our family naturally takes an interest in many of these huge American accomplishments.
My wife is watching and I’ll cut out from work a bit early to catch the actual touchdown in a half hour.
Getting there is half the fun.
I wonder which s tougher: the landing or the funding?
36 min to touchdown
I hate to say this...but I am not intrigued by this at all...so disgusted with the current occupation of communists in our congress and oval office...I apologise but thats how I feel.
You’re entitled to your opinion. Please leave the thread. Thanks
Gets exciting in 29. :)
Everything. Every single day would be heaven with Trump in office.
Little did we know, My Friend, that Pence, McConnell and many many others were plotting and expecting and anxious for his demise.
The man succeeded despite the push back.
I’m hearing that the stock market is edgy thinking of interest rates going up.
I CAN ASSURE YOU THEY WILL NOT RAISE INTEREST RATES, LIKE THE DID WITH TRUMP.
how did Pluto enter in this convo?
“I am not intrigued by this at all...so disgusted with the current occupation of communists in our congress and oval office.”
I feel the same.
We have to get the impostor / cheater / usurper out of the Oval Office, and then we can move on toe less important things. The election was stolen and it seems that people are forgetting that.
This is the second nuclear powered rover. Someone in a previous thread stated Perservance was the first, but that was Curiosity:
The Curiosity Rover is a car-sized robot sent to the Red Planet in 2011 to study the Martian climate and geology. The nuclear powered, 6-wheel rover landed on Mars in August 2012 utilizing an experimental ‘sky-crane’ system which softly lowered the rover into the Gale Crater landing zone. With an original mission length of 2 years, Curiosity has long since passed this and will continue to explore for years to come.

* will probably proclaim that there was no perseverance project before he took over the White House.
I can’t believe they are making the staff wear double masks. I hope Fauci is condemned to wear ten masks for eternity in hell.
I want to see it live, to see the Martians waving in welcome, not the cleaned up images later. I am sure most of us can handle the live images. :)
JPL guy now on setting it up for failure?
12 minutes to entry interface....
Hey Doc!
Long time no see / write / read / sign / ride the rail / speed up I 55 to Chi town... / etc.
As a former U S military airborne heavy drop parachute rigger, I would like to give a shout out to the professional NASA parachute riggers that are playing a major roll in the deceleration and landing of the spacecraft.
Rigger motto: I Will Be Sure Always
About 12 minutes until the big show.
