WASHINGTON -- U.S. Capitol Police officials told congressional leaders the razor-wire topped fencing around the Capitol should remain in place for several more months as law enforcement continues to track threats against lawmakers, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press on Thursday.
The police officials suggested that the fence remain in place until September, in part because investigators are tracking continuing threats against lawmakers and the Capitol complex, the person said. The threats range in specificity and credibility, but they include online chatter about extremist groups potentially returning to Washington and to the Capitol in the coming weeks, the person told AP.
The police officials said the fence is needed as a physical barrier to prevent a potential repeat of the Jan. 6 insurrection when thousands of pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol as Congress was voting to certify Joe Biden’s presidential win, the person said. Five people, including a Capitol police officer, died as a result of the melee.
The person was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

However, he had a Twitter video this morning showing the Biden Wall that he faces everytime he leaves the house. Steel fence with razor wire - no way to park on the street because of the fence. We were told the fence would be down after inauguration, then told it would be down after impeachment Citizens are asking if they can have their city back.
He notes that every day he sees armed soldiers and razor wire as he goes to work. It's been over a month, no one knows why they are there or how long they'll stay. The cost is already $500 million and is proposed to remain until Fall.
While filming, soldiers approach and ask why he's filming soldiers, they ask for ID. THey are polite and his comments are not directed at them personally, but asks why he would have to have a badge to film in the city in which he lives (he wasn't filming soldiers, he was filming the city).
“Rats -
“Never let a crisis go....”
Oh brother. What bullshit. The FBI has been neutered. Now they are focused on “protecting” the capitol from unspecified threats.
Fire all the bastards.
Keeping out the legals?
can we make it so congress can’t leave. Maybe if they all get covid a large percentage will die. I can see biden’s double mask causing him respiratory problems and adding to his dementia issues real quick.
It sounds like this fence is there forever.
Meanwhile the southern border is open to invaders.
The fence is a symbol that tells us all we need to know about the Swamp.
There is one set of rules for the elites, another for the deplorables.
Think of how flush Capitol Police and DC city budgets must be since they’ve passed DC security costs off to the rest of the States.
Fence ain’t never coming down
Good idea. They want to keep the average American as far away from them as possible, I don’t blame them
Day 96 of The Capitol Siege!
“Today, we were forced to eat Jerry Nadler. He gave me gas. He gave everyone gas.”
I say remove all the statues, but leave all the fences as a reminder of what a-holes the ’rat commies are. They stole the election. Let them defend it from behind a fortress wall every day. Jerks.
Hey Nancy!
Tear down this wall!
In the original movie version of The Magnificent Seven ( not the newer, post-modern, PC version ), Eli Wallach, the villain Mexican bandido, tells Steve McQueen that the walls he’s constructed around the besieged village will not keep him and his bandits out.
McQueen’s reply : “ They’re not to keep you out. They’re to keep you in “.
The criminals in D.C. are within the walls.
but they said to us, walls don’t work?
THEY HAVE TUNNELS.....................
“Insurrection”
“Rioters stormed”
Ooooohhhhh....and they had tanks and nuclear bombs and stuff, too.
I don’t care about DC. They can inconvenience themselves all day long.
Nobody has put up a “Caution: Pelosi’s Animal Farm!” Sign yet?
