Dr Anthony Fauci has urged Congress to pass Joe Biden's Covid relief bill because US schools 'need more resources' to re-open safely after months of virus-enforced closures.

The nation's top infectious disease expert said re-opening schools 'can be done' but told ABC's George Stephanopoulos that school districts 'really do need more resources'.

'That's the reason why the national relief act that we're talking about getting passed - we need that,' Fauci said, as Democrats in Congress try to push through $130billion in funding to help schools upgrade buildings and buy protective gear.

What a load of crap - it doesn’t take $130B for schools to address Covid.

What happened to the bundle President Trump gave them. It was more than enough to prepare schools to start under CDC guidelines.

Maybe used for other pet projects by the governors??

There's still a lot of money that the Feds have not spent from recent coronavirus bills, the first one and the recent one passed before Joe Biden became President.

I thought Fauci wasn’t political and said during the Trump administration that he had no call on economics. Any money he should be talking about should be DIRECTLY related to the Vaccine.

Most private schools seem to have managed just fine. Most don’t need to reopen either because their teachers were actually working.

every public school fleeces the local population for lots and lots of money

that doesnt go anywhere but the pockets of union folks and the wallets of teachers and administrators

and they just keep coming to the trough

and i am so iskc of teachers saying gow poor they are

if this is really the case they dont get money they need to be on our side and demand the collected money go towards the schools and not unions and ‘overhead’

but then agan why prop up such a corrupt and worthless education system full of socialists and those that deliveratwly hide things from parents

i hope it all fails
