Technology is doing away with whole classes of work. From the end of WWII to about 1973 a blue collar worker had a chance to retire well on savings, defined benefit retirement programs and Social Security was gravy. But in the future, blue collar jobs will barely keep most people fed, let alone allow you to raise a family and buy a home. So we are going to let millions of poorly educated people who are encouraged not integrate into society live off the dole and absorb all the blue collar jobs?
