Louisiana GOP votes to censure Cassidy over impeachment vote
The Hill ^ | 2/13/2021 | Jordan Williams

The executive committee of the Republican Party of Louisiana voted on Saturday to censure Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) over his vote to convict former President Trump for inciting the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol.

"The Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Louisiana has unanimously voted to censure Senator Bill Cassidy for his vote cast earlier today to convict former President Donald J. Trump on the impeachment charge," the party said in a brief statement.

Cassidy was one of seven GOP senators who joined Democrats in voting to convict Trump for "willfully inciting violence against the Government of the United States."

The Louisiana Republican tweeted on Saturday that he voted to convict because "Our Constitution and our country is more important than any one person. I voted to convict President Trump because he is guilty."

Well then we have to figure out a way to get the media “off the air”.

Well then we have to figure out a way to get the media “off the air”.

It is very difficult. President Trump showed the Media they have to censor everyone else in order to maintain their power.

It is in direct contradiction to the Constitution, and all America was founded to maintain.

It has been a long process, starting 100 years ago with the "Progressives" who actively worked to dismantle the Constitution and its checks and balances.

Then, 50 years and a few ago, the "Progressive" structures were taken over by leftists who did not even feel any allegiance to the United States.

Now, a majority of the population no longer trust the Media.

If we can survive the next two years, we may be able to build enough alternate media to re-take the country.

I pray for it every day.

I work on the project, every day.

The MAGA-Deplorian: "Primaried into what?
The RNC is toxic.
Its like a hooker with COVID crabs.
No one is going to go near this party no matter who is in it, even Trump.
They have destroyed all trust. "

Nonsense, all you're doing is babbling insanely.
95% of House Republicans voted against impeachment, so the House has a 5% loyalty problem.
But remember, these 5% featured Lynn Chaney, whose daddy President Trump went out of his way to mock & belittle.
So it's not terribly surprising she might indulge a little payback.

In the US Senate, 86% of Republicans voted against impeachment, meaning the Senate has a 14% loyalty problem.
Those 14% included notably Mitt Romney, also mocked & belittled by President Trump, mainly for losing the 2012 election -- for somehow snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!

But, sure, I "get" it, you're an old Democrat at heart, and Democrats demand absolute lock-step (goose-step) obedience from 100% of their troops, no exceptions allowed.
So you'd rather see Democratic socialists ruling everything than permit devil-Republicans to not always obey your orders.

{sigh}

*************************************************************

Mr. Cassidy, millions of us believe you “voted to convict” because of MONEY. Some PAC, like one’s funded by the Zuckerbergs, Dorsey’s or the
Chinese Communist Party, or Soros promised you a big donation for voting against him. So, at least quit your lying about “guilt”.

And that attitude is exactly why the GOP is a bunch of losers today and will be tomorrow, some people never wake up.

Sanctimonious baloney. He won’t run again, but we’re stuck with him for six years unless there’s a recall.

The Left has followed the Gramscian model of seizing one by one all our institutions. Religion, education, government, heck, the family. The media is the glue that holds it all together (none of those institutions following a socialist model can stand on their own merits). Their incessant droning on of lies, distortions, fabrications and re-definitions have lulled our republic into a stupor both moral and intellectual.

We need to utilize a “come out from among them and be ye separate” approach, as Israel did in the Old Testament. We must create a successful and separate alternative to today’s media (one that won’t get gobbled up in the end like Fox ) and offer up a more accurate take on the world and its practices. We must provide educational solutions that ground our youth in the truth, in our history, in our nations true values. We must re-condition ourselves to think about the corrupting nature of everything the Left has to offer and withdraw and then learn to abstain. We must adopt a 60’s hippie approach to “life on the commune” and develop and support with our dollars only those entities that support our way of life. In short, we must provide the alternative, provide what we know to be effective when it comes to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” and compete with this in the marketplace of ideas. Right now, our side (and I include myself in this) is nothing more than dabblers. We taste a bit of this, we sample some of that, say no altogether to the other—always knowing that we don’t (and shouldn’t go too far with things) but ignoring to greater or lesser degree that no matter how much or how little we take, we are supporting the very institutional apparatus that is destroying us from within.

Massive undertaking—especially given it will need to take place in the context of the Left’s “sex and drugs and rock and roll”, government-dependent, big brother-control-freak-power-hungry approach to people’s lives.

What is Cassidy’s history? I know next to nothing about the traitor. Someone mentioned he was a Democrat?

I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out he and 'Arron' Burr were silent partners in the Lincoln Project with some sexually harassed young men in their closets threatening to come out.

The purpose for going to the DC march was to show all those voting that MAGA was a huge bloc, unified, and watching them as they refused to get an accurate count of the votes.
Never forget that biden is an illegitimate usurper!
Never forget the republican liars who can’t tell an insurrection from a large peaceful crowd.

All these upset state GOP parties stop, just stop with the meaningless censure nonsense! If you really are upset with your RINO members of congress who continually stab you in the back kick their asses out of your state party. Then don’t take their calls or visits, treat them like you would a pedo, ostracize and shun them at every possible opportunity. Your censures are not worth a fresh bucket of goat piss.

Censure. Big whoop.

Take away their card. Kick them out of the party. Send them across the aisle.

It’s worth it. The alternative is that no matter WHO the GOP puts up in the primary, NOBODY IS GOING TO VOTE FOR THEM. The brand is destroyed. The GOP doesn’t stand for conservatives.

They are CONTROLLED OPPOSITION.

For me #gopcontrolledopp is the hashtag for a new generation.

I am not a lawyer but according to my reading of the rules in the U.S. Senate there is no citizen recall protocol in the state of Louisiana. I think only the Senate itself can recall a Senator.
