At least a dozen Republican Senators reportedly walked out of the Senate impeachment trial on Thursday, after lead House impeachment manager Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) tried to argue that years of Trump rallies were incitement to violence.
National Review reporter John McCormack reported several Republican Senators left the chamber during part of Raskin’s presentation, and missed the subsequent argument of Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA), who argued that Trump was a future danger.
Inside the Senate chamber:
Trump’s 2016 rivals Rubio, Cruz, and Graham watched intently as video documented Trump’s 2015-2020 remarks making light of or justifying political violence.
Graham, Rubio, and Cruz then left and didn’t watch Lieu’s presentation from the floor.

At least a dozen Senate Republicans skipped at least part of Lieu’s presentation.
Lieu warned of history repeating itself:“I’m afraid [Trump is] going to run again and lose.”

Raskin tried to claim that Trump’s speech on January 6 incited the Capitol riot because he had spent years encouraging supporters to commit acts of violence, or condoning past acts of violence, often using specific coded language to do so.
Specifically, Raskin claimed Trump had incited violence against public officials in the past. He tried, for example, to link Trump to the plot uncovered (by the Trump administration) to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer last fall, though one of the alleged plotters was a Black Lives Matter supporter, and another plotter had an anarchist flag and hated police.
Raskin also claimed, falsely, that Trump had praised neo-Nazis who rioted in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017 — a familiar lie known as the “very fine people” hoax.
In fact, Trump said the neo-Nazis should be “condemned totally.”

The effort to tie Trump’s rallies to violence has been going on from the start. I remember how they were looking for violence during the Tea Party rallies. They turned over every rock to find some vestige of violence. They found none! The Tea Party died because with all of their effort, little happened until Trump came on the scene.
No we don’t. Or do we?
Actually, with the absence of the CJ Roberts this trial never started.
The Dems, however. have clearly demonstrated they are quite comfortable amending the Constitution with a simple majority vote to suit their political agenda.
One would think those who knowingly and intentionally use the government in ways that violate the Constitution should be regarded as "domestic enemies".
It’s a terrible disease. I don’t know how accurate this simulation is but it is horrifying

Having had to deal with someone on the schizo spectrum I can see where it would be accurate.
We got rid of the weasel Eric Cantor on the eve of the amnesty vote, stopping it, that was a lot.
In the extremely unlikely event Trump is convicted, I expect he will immediately ask SCOTUS to rule the verdict invalid in numerous ways, and SCOTUS will agree. This is a straight up kangaroo court, and Democrats are proving themselves fascists by pursuing it.
I’m concerned they’ll also change the rule, by simple majority vote, to conviction requiring only a simple majority.
You know this how exactly
Best POTUS my lifetime
Dims could have hardly picked a more irritating person to present their case.
Gawd, these people are children to get so "triggered". Trump never said such things as stated by Raskin. "Coded language...?" REALLY? I wonder if Raskin and ilk actually wetted their beds over their imaginary "codes".
I have come to hate these closet communists. I say that loud and proud. I hate communists and have history to prove why I should.
I can't believe I spent 11 years in the military to protect their free speech rights, only to watch them go full-blown totalitarian.
And a lot more illegal immigrants and the city citadels of fraud will up their game too.
I agree, but Trump could start up a movement like the Tea Party. This is not over...
Their fear of him running again is precisely why they are doing this
And they are failing at it
But Mitch etc have made it clear if he goes nuclear in the trial he could lose and his political career is over
I fully expect him to run again
He won by a landslide why wouldn’t he
History is on Trumps side..baring fraud....and that’s a big hurdle to be sure
Trumps personality is he will not go quietly into the night though for now he’s speakijg through proxies
Hey ! Didn’t you get the updated code word book last week?! They’ve added some words you need to know before the next Trump Robots United meeting.

The reporter cannot express himself directly without fear of retribution - so the reporters actual views are being seconded to Republican Senators.

Let’s do this !
There is no such thing as a "liberal" now. They are either socialists or full on communists. It's time for someone of substance to explain the difference on prime time TV. Radio programs just don't cut it for the TV addicts.
How many Americans even know there is a registered Communist Party and has been for years?
Guess I'll have to explain it for the umpteenth time the differences between Capitalism, Liberalism, Socialism, Communism, and Autocratic Dictatorial rule.
Nevermind, look up the words and terms. Sure someone with better writing skills can nuance the differences better than me.
The one inescapable fact I can prove, is the many years the Soviet fleet followed me on my ships just waiting for the chance to send us to the bottom. Why was that, you pissy little punks? Forget your Marxist instructors. Ask why Soviet subs had torpedoes aimed at a benign America ship full of American youth who just wanted to keep the shipping lanes free for the World? Yes, our mission was that simple.
