Bill Gates says climate change is biggest challenge ever faced by humanity
CBS "News" ^ | February 12, 2021

Bill Gates, an integral player in the digital revolution as the co-founder of Microsoft, hopes to play a critical role in fighting climate change.

The billionaire philanthropist has invested in programs tackling global problems of poverty and disease for decades and recently, the pandemic. Now he sets his sights on evading the disaster scientists warn is ahead if the planet continues to warm.

Gates believes halting the temperature rise will be the biggest challenge ever faced by humanity. "The amount of change, new ideas. It's way greater than the pandemic," Gates tells Anderson Cooper in a 60 Minutes interview airing Sunday. "And it needs a level of cooperation that would be unprecedented."

But Gates hopes people will be able to develop ways to reduce or eliminate greenhouse gases – mostly carbon dioxide – that scientists say contribute to global warming.

"We have more educated people than ever. We have a generation that's speaking out on this topic. And, you know, I got to participate in the miracle of the personal computer and the internet," Gates says. "And so, yes, I have a bias to believe innovation can do these things."

To think that Gates used to be thought of as a genius back in the 80's...

So sick of this douchebag - owns a fleet of private jets for himself, recently trying to purchase a large portion of a private jet company - so he can service his other rich friends - and preaches to the little people about how we must sacrifice.

from the above article:

>>>According to a study by academics at Lund University, Gates is one of the world’s biggest “super-emitters” due to his regular private jet travel. He took 59 flights in one year travelling more than 200,000 miles, according to the report, which estimated that Gates’ private jet travel emitted about 1,600 tonnes of carbon dioxide. That compares with a global average of less than five tonnes per person. Researchers have found that private jets emit up to 40 times as much carbon dioxide per passenger than commercial jets.

Personally, I never thought of Gates as a genius. I regarded him a a geek who came across something that, if he hadn’t made it, someone else would have in short order. He was in the right place at the right time and grabbed a golden ring.

Steve Jobs was more of a genius than Gates was, but Jobs was more of a marketing genius who saw the future and implemented it and not even close to a technical genius. (His technical genius was Wozniak)

The Climate will change and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Just pray the change is not a little ice age because no food will be grown in the Northern Hemisphere very far from the Equator.

All hail! The God-man Gates has given us a miracle!

Not.

All in all, I think the internet is the single worst thing to have been inflicted upon mankind.

The biggest challenge is to undo all of the damage done by do-gooders in the name of “climate change”.

The fight against temperature rise is a huge challenge because it is so difficult to measure. They can put a thermometer in a parking lot and declare that that is the global temperature, and average it over 24 hours and over an entire year, and the results will be the same year after year, so they won’t know if they are winning or losing. They will tell us we are losing and to try harder. If they can get half the people to make the sacrifices, the Karens will make the other half sacrifice also, just like COVID masking.

All communications technology fits that description, IMO.

Radio should have been the end of it, only because Morse Code is too impractical to have had advancement end there.
