Today’s thought for the day...

Europe - Africa

Chicago - Dallas

Yeah, call your representative...

...and confess.

"...unless they were desperate for any sort of employment."

That is what Herr Biden is going to make everyone in this country...desperate.

Professional envy?
Teachers are getting away with not working at all.

The ‘exam’ is a personality test*, pretty much the same one they give at Walmart and Target. The days of the old written (or computer based) proctored exam are long gone. http://www.usps.com/careers is the link to what jobs are available.

* Proctored exams are still required for maintenance craft positions including auto repair, custodial, mechanic, etc positions.

Its not like most of them worked that hard to begin with.

DC had (has?) this same problem. As soon as it became known that crime and the postal union were the causes, the story just faded away. Don’t know if it ever got cleared up, but I doubt it.

No, Obama’s Library is down in Jackson Park, all the way on the far South Side, and Edison Park is basically the opposite end of the city on the far Northwest side.

Lincoln Park is actually pretty safe now, with all the yuppies moving in, but Rogers Park is not great. It was always split with West Rogers Park being nice and East Rogers Park having a lot of subsidized housing, but it’s becoming more and more ghetto over the years. Wrigleyville, on the other hand, is very upscale now. They even tore down the “Punkin’ Donuts” that all the punk rockers and street kids used to hang out at. It’s still full of gays, but they are now married gay couples with nice sweaters and fat bank accounts instead of gay junkie hustlers.

I personally think they should deputize comedians to deliver the mail. This has worked in the past.

There a two part test and one part has to do with memory retention; the person is shown several addresses and they have to put them in order - that’s just one group of questions.

“Three day priority mail with a tracking number is now $7.95. Rarely is 3 days the actuality of the delivery. It was 6.75 not very long ago.”

***

A bud of mine runs an Ebay store. He had to increase his items and calculated carefully due to that increase. I mean, you can stick ANYTHING in those Priority Mail envelopes as long as it doesn’t break. I’ve seen him stick everything from 3 big shampoos and even 25 YARDS of chiffon in that damn thing, but for the fabric, you have to painstakingly roll it and he had a worker who had to do that.

In addition here in Hollywood, I;ve seen those postal guys deliver those Priority Mail stuff on SUNDAYS. Yes, you read that right. They HAVE TO deliver within 3 days regardless of what day..

The next day my boss told me just to deliver the street first because it was too early for gang members to be awake.

A good rule of business, know your customers.

****

Not quite. One of my buds in my circle works for Target. There is NO “personality” test. Just to get into Target, you run a background AND consumer/credit check, which goes for EVERYONE from stockers to Starbucks baristas. The amount of BS WOKE courses such as “racism” courses and videos, are a LOT. iT TAKES 2 DAYS just to take those tests before they move you to the floor for training.

One of the training TEST COURSE videos “Carl called me a homo and that hurt my feelings” is real LOL, and you have to answer the test correctly to move on and there are 32, believe me.

DC, SF, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, NYC, Miami, all of Puerto Rico - the list of hotspots goes on and on; biggest problem is staffing.

A few of those hotspots finally have local agreements were people are released to go home after 12 hours, some had (until federal court orders) agreements that no less than one day off every 14. Morale in a lot of these hammered stations is non-existent. Perform your job well, you get rewarded with more work.

A rural carrier who works in my old home town in the burbs of Los Angeles throws packages from 4am to 8am, does a rural route 8am to 3pm, runs part of another route from 3pm to 5pm, splits up other routes from 5pm to 8pm. And does that 7 days a week - she’s lucky, others are being held until 11pm or midnight.

Here in L.A, we have private mailboxes. It’s a good business to run anywhere. We’ve seen and experienced how the post office treats customers who have mailboxes with USPS..LIKE CRAP.

There a two part test and one part has to do with memory retention; the person is shown several addresses and they have to put them in order - that’s just one group of questions.

That's the 473 assessment, discontinued in 2019. The replacement test is just a personality test, the 474 exam, taken from the comfort of your computer at home. Plenty of youtube videos on how to pass it with a 100 score.

(Source: myself, I've taken both.)

The people living in the Projects were usually very friendly but you never wanted to get there after 3 o’clock.

Okay - thanks for the update. I was a part-tome proctor a while back giving those 473’s plus three other PO exams.

I had to take some “sensitivity” training so I know what you mean.

He showed me one of my favorites: the “shooter” test course video training where a WHITE GUY comes into Target with a duffel bag while the all-black employees run into a storage room. I asked him “so where’s the rifle?” He tells me” they dont show it in the video, just a white dude with a duffel bag” and that made me laugh.

Probably a lot less mail theft that way.
