I heard about an elderly couple here in Maryland in their 80s—the man has dementia, but his wife brought him to a Meritus Hospital for a scheduled cardiac test. They told her she could not go in with him, even though he no longer understands or can remember what is said.
Later they came out and told her they were keeping him overnight but she still couldn’t see him. When she came back to get him the next day, they released him with no discussion or instructions to her. Finally she called their local GP, who called the hospital cardiologist to find out what happened. Turns out the hospital put in a stent, all without any informed consent by him or her, or any instructions to her.
This pandemic is bringing out the evil tyrant in healthcare workers.
