A University of Minnesota student made some pretty egregious allegations in an Instagram post about an interaction he had with campus police during the early morning hours of February 1st.
These allegations were detailed in an alleged synopsis of this interaction between the individual and officers, with this university student proclaiming that the officers were not only rude but exercising some form of racial bias in their endeavors when stopping to speak with him.
And as it turns out, portions of the student’s allegations were either highly embellished, or outright lies – and it was courtesy of the officer’s dash cam that picked up the audio of this interaction that laid to rest the outrageous claims made by the student.

“That only works if the video is available unedited to the public on demand.
In many jurisdictions that is not the case.”
A local police department (rather small) said that such a requirement would entail the indefinite storage of videos and the hiring of a staff to maintain them. In addition videos would show people not charged with any crime thus making videos with them in it a violation of their right to privacy. As a result, they stopped using cameras on officers.
Not saying they were right or wrong. This is what they claimed.

The University of Minnesota Department of Public Safety released footage from a squad car...They should also release every bit of his personal information, including his arrest and prosecution for Slander and False Report.

He should be expelled from the leadership position, for the lies and the attempt to foment racism.
This event will live forever on the Internet. Every person who might hire him will be able to find it.
How could anyone hire such an obvious liar and creator of false narratives.

When the student first put out this account, he put his name on it.
Why are the authorities covering for him now?

As Powerline’s John Hinderaker notes, “First, when they stopped the guy to talk to him, the officers thought he was white. Second, the officers couldn’t possibly have been more mellow and polite. Third, the student was so traumatized that he asked the officers to give him a ride. They politely declined, since they were still looking for an armed robbery suspect.

I can fully accept that someone is sometimes the focus of bad behavior by people, law enforcement or otherwise. And I can sympathize with that, because sometimes people (and law enforcement officers) are a-holes.
That happens.
But that isn’t what happened here. This pathetic turd was trying to use an encounter to fan the flames of something that is already burning because of pieces of crap of all colors who are just like him.
Boy, did it really piss me off to watch that video.

Phony apologies usually include the phrase, “I’m sorry it happened”, as if it were some kind of cosmic accident.

This was probably his way of getting back at the cops for not giving him a ride. After all, his getting to where he wanted to go was so much more important that catching a robbery suspect, at least in his eyes.
