Today's second Senate impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump isn’t expected to lead to a conviction or interest in the nation, according to a survey done on the eve of the action.
“Only 15% of voters say they’ll watch the entire Senate impeachment trial on TV, and 21% expect to watch most of it. 30% say they’ll watch some of Trump’s trial, but 32% won’t watch any of it,” said the pollster in a preview of its results.
An earlier poll found that the trial is likely to lead to even deeper partisan resentment and spoil any hope by President Biden for unity in the nation.

It’s a rerun.
I thought it was impossible for my deep hatred of democrats to grow, but they succeeded in doing just that with this political cheap stunt. From here forward, they set the precedent whereby any democrat in the house can wake up one morning and say “let’s have some fun today — let’s impeach the president.”
This stunt drove a serious nail into the coffin of the USA.
This is a glorified Senate hearing. There is no judge and Trump is not President. Whatever they do here cannot be legally binding.
Yeah, well few of us expected the results from 11/3-4 either.
This is Nancy Pelosi venting her spleen on the people of The United States.

It is beyond embarrassing for an 81 year old woman to act this way.
There is literally no reason to watch this like none Ted Liu and his donations from Ed Buck alone make this almost laughable

The Left is bhurt that 75,000,000+ Americans voted for Trump AFTER he’d been impeached in 2020.
Even less reason to watch this sham show than the last one or the kavenaugh hearings or any other the other stunts these crooks have pulled.

I was able to survive not watching the Super Bowl. I think I can manage not riding this merry-go-round.

The Chief Justice was chosen to “preside” because he is not political and has no vote. You can’t have a voting member of the Senate presiding for that reason....UNLESS you take away his right to vote.
Even if you did, there is no provision for this in the US Constitution. Article I Sec 3 states: “When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside”. Oh, he isn’t the President of the United States? Okay, then we move to Article II Sec 4 “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” Oops, if he isn’t the president, you can’t impeach him.
So which is it? Is he President of the United States (and Joe Biden isn’t) and any trial requires the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court? Or is he not the president and is thus not eligible for an impeachment trial?
The Chief Justice will not be present during this charade.
