Alcee Hastings was appointed to be a federal judge in 1979. In 1981, he was accused of soliciting bribes and obstructing justice

...

A special committee of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals began a .. three-year investigation ended with the panel concluding that Hastings did indeed commit perjury, tamper with evidence, and conspire to gain financially by accepting bribes.

...

He was impeached by the United States House of Representatives and convicted by the Senate. He was kicked out of his judgeship in 1989.

....

Four years later he ran for the U.S. House — a federal office — from Florida and he won. He joined the House Democratic caucus and is still in the House to this very day.

Nobody is forcing the Democrats to make Hastings — a convicted and impeached federal judge — so powerful and influential.

Plus one’s Republican and the other’s Democrat.

Plus one side is cutthroat, plays to win at all costs, takes off the gloves, and ignores all the rules and laws while the gentlemen on the other side abide by the Marquess of Queensberry Rules.

Punishments are only applied to non-demonRATS.

Did you not know that?

I can only conclude you have not been paying attention for the past two centuries.

Hastings - powerful in the House? People don’t even know his name. That is a silly heading. He has not been on one single House committee hearing in recent years. I’m not sure he is even still a member of the House.

Because they did not explicitly prevent him from seeking elective office when they impeached and removed him/

Wouldn’t have mattered if they had. He’s black and he’s dem so rules and laws don’t apply to him. I’m a poet and I know it.

In oreer for them to vote that he NEVER hold a government job again, he has to be convicted.

And for Hastings, it's reversed. Even though he was convicted, they never voted to include the punishment of a bar from office.

Because Black Democrats have been getting away with criminal acts/corruption and treason since the 1960’s (Adam Clayton Powell, John Conyers Jr, George Crockett Jr., Danny Davis, Ellison, Waters, etc.)
