Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley has called on the country "to address the evil and scourge that is White supremacy," one month after pro-Donald Trump rioters stormed the US Capitol.
"One of the images that I'm haunted by is the Black custodial staff cleaning up the mess left by that violent White supremacist mob," the Massachusetts Democrat told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union" Sunday, reflecting on her experience on Capitol Hill during the deadly siege on January 6.
"That is a metaphor for America. We have been cleaning up after violent, White supremacist mobs for generations and it must end."

A huge picture today with John Lewis being called “A Hero for the 21st Century” - “everybody get in the great revolution sweeping the country”. Black history month? I wonder if she thought of talking to the people who cleaned up the Capitol on 1/6? If she asked them how it felt to have a good job at a good wage or any service personnel at any business she relies on if they felt oppressed? Does she hear, “I’m so oppressed, I have to get up mornings and go to work” or would she hear, “Thank God, I have a good job. I can take care of my family without asking for any handouts.”
Clinton was the first black president. Then there was obamy. Now there’s Harris or whomever. Yet, somehow, there’s white supremacy.
The Republiczn rallies around the country did not leave the tradh the Democrat endorsed ones did. Whoever cleans up the trash in D C gets paid better than most custodial. It is respectable work. Unlike misRepresenting the needs of the working people!
