2021 Super Bowl score: Tom Brady wins seventh ring as Buccaneers dominate Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes
CBS Sports ^ | 02/07/2021 | Jared Dubin et al

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are Super Bowl LV champions after completing a victory that exceeded expectations and made all kinds of history on Sunday night at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. In dominating the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9, the Bucs won its second Super Bowl and became the first team to win a Super Bowl in their home stadium. Quarterback Tom Brady secured his seventh Lombardi Trophy, two more than any player in NFL history and one more than any entire NFL franchise has achieved.

Brady's performance at age 43 was nearly flawless, and the suffocating pressure of Todd Bowles' defense was a perfect compliment to the offense's effort. The future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback completed 21 of 29 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair to his long-time favorite target in tight end Rob Gronkowski and another to wide receiver Antonio Brown. He calmly distributed the ball to his cadre of pass catchers and was especially successful over the middle. Brady and Gronk now have 14 postseason scoring connections in their legendary careers.

The Bucs forced the Chiefs into their worst offensive performance of the Patrick Mahomes era as Tampa Bay's defensive front completely controlled the line of scrimmage through all four quarters. Mahomes was under siege all night, alternately firing the ball into the ground and having to tuck and scamper away from the relentless pressure. Mahomes took three sacks and threw two interceptions on tipped passes. Even those figures undersell the degree to which the Bucs made his life miserable. He ended the night with 270 yards passing, much of which game in garbage time, while being held without a touchdown for just the second time in 56 games since taking over KC's starting job in 2018.

EXACTLY what I did last night, and HAVE been doing for the last three or four years ... maybe five ... I forget.

I DID try to watch the 1/2 time and ... There is no way real America is entertained by past their prime whorishly dressed "entertainers" that sing something that has no beat nor words.

I turned away from it after about three or four minutes and actually wondered ....

Maybe they should find the Champion Drum Corps or Band and let a five or ten minute routine of "animated formation" entertain us.

Remember old Army/Navy games (f'rinstance) that featured the host service band and they'd make a ship floating through ocean waves, or a tank plowing across the field ?

All the while playing some apropos tune for the image ?

Remember?

I guess I'm jes' an ol' faht.

But THAT was entertainment.

Oh yeah, I'm an alumnus of the OLD Boston Crusaders ... (drum corps is no longer what it was)

President Trump was well on his way to BRING BACK AMERICA

Funny that none of them noted that the police shootings they were protesting happened in cities run by democrats.

Exactly. I had a Salesforce certification exam at noon that day, and then my kid and I restarted Fallout 4 New Vegas and decided to play through as the Legionnaires in celebration of our new Technofascist regime.

Brady’s something else. Very impressive.

Yes. I wanted to see Brady win again, too. Was hopeful at the beginning and I wasn’t disappointed. One of the ‘announcers’ proclaimed the game would be ‘the Greatest of all time against the Greatest of this time’. Never poke the Bear.

Brady is the GOAT and to top that he is also a really nice guy. Loved seeing that win and the MVP accolade.

Here’s a little bit of insight. Super Bowl is usually the busiest day of the year at Domino’s. Yesterday, drivers were being sent home early because it wasn’t very busy. Wasn’t very busy last year either.

I know it sounds trite as so many others have mentioned it but I also did not watch one second of the Super Bowl game yesterday.

That said, I'm glad for Tom Brady winning another Super Bowl. One of the more decent guys in sports (and not just because he supports Trump). It was also a well deserved slap in the face to the New England Patriots football organization, who apparently deemed him too old and past his prime to sign him up for a contract extension.

Ten Super Bowls (and winning 7 of them). That is an amazing career stat.

Like the 56-game hitting streak by DiMaggio, it is unlikely to ever be matched.

I waited until the game was over, then watched the highlights.

Pretty much what I’ve been doing the past few years.

They come out with the highlights so quickly, sometimes, I like to go and watch them, before I know the final score, saves a lot of time. And I don’t go to the official NFL site, so they don’t get the hits.

Nfl secret rules commitee granted an initial 21 point “headstart” affirmative action points for having a QB of color. Chiefs still lose.

The best part is the media hates Brady and love Mahomes. They will be whining for months.

President Trump and Tom are similar in many ways:
1) MAGA
2) Winners
3) No matter happens in their professional life, they get to go home to an intelligent, supportive, beautiful woman.

One last tip: whatever you do, if you want to watch the game without knowing the score in advance do not come here. There are FReepers who live for the chance to come here within minutes of the ending and post the score.

While I've not had an NFL game in my house for several years now, I do follow the scores and a guilty pleasure of mine is watching the highlights on YouTube a few days later.

I don't think that's really cheating. I still get my Sunday afternoons back and I don't have to sit through hours of SJW BS with all the kneeling on the sidelines and the goofy chatter up in the booth. In 10 or 15 minutes, I get to see the best plays of the week without all the nonsense.

Best of both worlds.
