But working from home meant I could sit inside and look out at the thermometer. LOL!
That's a plus!
Glad you were able to finally get out. The week sure got off to an ugly start up there.
No, we didn’t get snow down here. Just some rain, though it got pretty chilly for a few days. The mountains got a little snow though.
We managed to squeeze out 52 degrees this afternoon ahead of the cold front coming through. Getting a nice, steady rainfall at the moment.
Sounds like your Thursday weather was like ours.
And, I’m not looking forward to the ice-age temps next week.
Howz things your way?
Have fun Hangin' at the FReeper Cafe.
Be safe out there.
To our military and allies: thank you for all you do.
Good night.
Hmmmm, I’m looking a snow on the radar right now, closing in on your area. Part of the cld front coming through that’s, thankfully, just giving us rain. Another front will come through this weekend but the really cold temps won’t come down this far ..... or so they say.
As long as “the beast” is fueled, lubed, and ready to go, you’re set for what hits you when. :-)
Yikes! Y’all are just having too much “fun” this winter, huh. And we’re sitting over here waiting for it to arrive. LOL!
They initially said those ice-age temps were going to hit us, too, this weekend but now they say we get to miss out on that “fun”. We’ll get a cold hit the middle of next week though, with highs in the 30s for several days after. 40s and 50s between now and then.
You got it!
Worse case scenario for tonight is that I might need to use the blade tractor to push two inches.
Might.
More likely, might not.
OUCH! Ammo costs have really jumped! Can’t blame ya for skipping this weekend.
Not much going on our way. Just layin’ low for the most part. Enjoying a relatively quiet evening for a change. The cats have been behaving pretty well all day.
It won’t last long. LOL
Shoo, after earlier this week, two inches will be a snap! LOL
Might not need to do anything....even better!
I’ve learned over the decades out here that 2 inches or 5 inches will take the same amount of time and the same amount of fuel.
That’s why the little ones are called “nuisance snows”!
I used them for years but when Flash stopped working last month, it ruined the NOAA radar.
I use the AccuWeather radar these days.
One or two inches can pretty well be ignored up there. That’s nothing. If that’s all you get, you can take the day off. LOL
Down here, we have a problem with temps warming up just enough during the day to melt snow then drop quickly at sunset, freezing what’s melted. Driving on snow is manageable for the most part but driving on ice .... nope.
People who move down here from the north scoff at us for closing schools when we get a little snow. Their first time out on the roads after a snowfall teaches them a sometimes expensive lesson.
They’re the main reason I just stay home when it snows. I don’t want them taking me out when they spin out.
Hey, there, radu!
Has the cold hit ya yet? Any rain? Hope no snow. Ugh
Howdy, luvie!
The rain has been here for a couple of hours and it’s been a nice one. Steady and light to begin with and now coming down harder. It looks like we have about another hour of it and that’s the end of it. This isn’t a very strong front and we won’t get super cold when it moves through. It’ll drop below freezing but it’s been in the 20s at night for a while. It’ll be a brisk night with the wind though.
Too bad you couldn’t get some rain from this system. You desperately need it.
I’m glad one of us is getting some. I miss the sound and the smell of a nice slow rain. I was really hoping this year would be better than last.
20s sound pretty cold! Stay warm and stay out of that chilling wind!
I can’t hear the rain on the roof in this house unless it comes down hard. There’s a tall attic, which we didn’t have in the other house and it blocks a lot of the sound. I could hear the wind roaring all afternoon though.
20s IS pretty cold but that’s what we’ve had at night for a while, so tonight won’t be much different. Mid 20s instead of upper 20s.
I usually hear the rain as it hits windows on the side that the wind is blowing from. And then I have to open the door to smell that perfume.
