Romney: Disingenuous for Republicans to Criticize Democrats After Big Spending Under Trump
Breitbart ^ | 02/02/2021 | Pam Key

Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) said Tuesday on the “Utah Politics” podcast that it is disingenuous for Republicans to criticize Democrats for spending trillions of dollars on another coronavirus relief package after the GOP did not express deficit concerns under former President Donald Trump.

Romney said, “There’s no question that if you begin doing things which break precedent or break tradition, the other side is going to do that when they’re in charge. This was before my time in the Senate, but when we’ve put a tax program on that basis that did not require any Democrat votes through reconciliation, we have a difficult time explaining why we’re not happy with what they would be doing at this stage.

Romitt is quick to criticize Republicans, but never the Rats. . . truly disgusting. Loyalty is a concept completely lost on Romitt.

The disingenuous part is minor.

The debt is a major disaster with no solution in sight.

This won’t end well. No matter the party, we can only kick the can down the road so far.

And we’ll never elect a politician running on an austerity message.

True. He is a minor in a minor party and a philosophy minor.

Along that same line, if a donkey fart sounded like words you’d believe them?
Romney showed that he had no spine when he refused to support the fact about 47% of people don’t pay taxes (federal). After that climb down, he completely sold out.

Stab, and stab, and stab other Republicans in the back. I think he just broke McSlimes record even though McSlime had more years in the Senate.

There is Winnie the Pooh, who is cute. Then there is Mitt the ####, who is not.

Trump's party had control of the House, which is supposed to control the purse strings, for exactly two years out of the four years he was in office.

The way the economy was booming before the arrival of the China virus and the vote counters, not the voters, controlling the electoral outcomes after that, might have allowed the economy to grow our way out of the deficit.

He does have a point, but it is certainly nothing new. Republicans only seem to find religion on spending during Democrat administrations. Just look at the chart on spending going back to 1980–spending increases under unified Republican control just as much as under unified Democrat control. In fact, the only times spending seems to be brought under control is during Democrat administrations with Republican control of at least part of Congress, such as during the late Clinton and late Obama years.

But, as they say, hypocrisy is the tribute vice pays to virtue. Spending needs to be cut whether that is seen as hypocritical or not.
