Michael Osterholm, who was a member of the Biden Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board, gave a second opinion after Dr. Anthony Fauci said last week that doubling up on face masks “likely” provides more protection than wearing just one mask.
"When we talk about double masking, remember what we're really talking about is just trying to prevent the virus from being excreted by me into the air or me inhaling the virus from someone else in the air, and it's both a function of face fit and face filtration," Osterholm said during an interview Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press.
If you add on another mask, you may actually make it tougher for the air to move through the two-cloth area, and then at that point, it causes more air to actually leak around the sides, which actually enhances your ability to get infected," Osterholm said.

I think Fauci is a holdover from the Carter administration.
He’s about as effective at disease control as Jimmuh was at Iran control.

It all began one Winter morning when citizens of the United
States tried to follow guidelines from the many folks trying
to edict what they should do.
The cure for COVID-19 came quickly for many folks. One minute
they were going about their normal routine. The next minute
passed out on the floor. Sadly, they couldn’t remove the
number of masks they had on.
On the bright side they never came down with COVID-19.
They never would.
They’d never see their next birthday either.

This probably the most literal example of "doubling down" that I've seen in a while. Why won't they simply acknowledge the obvious: That masks don't actually block viruses?
