Biden’s climate executive orders devastated these US workers in a day
New York Post ^ | January 30, 2021 | Salena Zito

On the morning of Jan. 20, every room of the two-story Stroppel Hotel in Midland, SD, was filled with men and women who work on the Keystone XL pipeline. Most of these union laborers, welders and pipefitters started their day over a cup of coffee in the hotel’s common room before heading out to their jobs.

By 4 p.m., the entire place was cleared out, leaving the historic hotel silent for the first time since owners Laurie and Wally Cox took it over six months ago.

“Our whole world turned upside down with the stroke of a pen,” Laurie said.

She is speaking of President Biden’s executive order, signed on his first day in office, that halted work on the Keystone XL pipeline in South Dakota and immediately eliminated 1,000 union jobs. TC Energy, the company that was developing the project, predicts that more than 10,000 jobs will be lost in 2021 due to the order.

Now Laurie, who holds a master’s degree in social work, sits alone in the vacant hotel while her husband Wally finds work as a millwright hours away. She starts to cry as she recalls how they bought the building in late September and quickly turned it into an affordable and social place for pipeline workers to stay.

“We structured our prices to suit the per diems of each trade,” she said. “We created a common room because there is a real sense of community within these workers, and we thrived since the day we opened our doors.”

Since Jan. 20, “the entire town became an instant ghost down.”

The XL pipeline wasn’t the only project stopped by Biden’s pen. On Wednesday, he issued an executive order halting oil and gas leasing and drilling permits on federal lands and waters.

The American government class doesn’t want workers.

They want slaves.

The reddit guys are talking only about the pipeline jobs.

In general from what I see there is that most posters are pretty leftist. But, then, I see that on most sites.

They all seem to believe that everyone can have good things if only we tax billionaires enough, and I am sure they are happy about destroying oil and coal.

They have no idea how the world works. They all think that destroying anyone or anything that is successful will lead to glorious wealth for all. No understanding that it requires a lot of people working together to generate the wealth that we have today and no understanding that economic systems are all about deciding how to allocate resources to achieve the best result. Everyone always thinks that reallocation freely to the so called poor is the best solution, but don’t really understand that they have to think about how to generate wealth, not simply how to consume it.

“I wonder if they could build it anyway...”

There are four states that currently would be involved:

California - Democratic Governor - Newsome
Arizona - Republican Governor - Ducey
New Mexico - Democratic Governor - Grisham
Texas - Republican Governor - Abbott

There are currently holes in the fence as it was built in sections and not started at the end going along the border. You might be able to get it built in Arizona and Texas. But California and Arizona...doubt it.

“That said maybe 65 million voted Biden and what the Sam hill were they thinking.”

It’s not that they liked Biden it’s their deep-rooted hatred for Trump!

There are going to be a lot of empty hotels, long term rv parks and restaurants because of this. The ripple effect will be not noticed for a while but it will come.

Right on.
No one will invest in anything. That’s why everything will be mandated and subsidized and given to political cronies of the Chinese puppet. I am in manufacturing. I can’t plan anything, I can’t hire anyone (not that anyone is going to come back when they are making more on COVID funemployment). I don’t want to upgrade equipment or software. I’ve blown through money just doing little projects to keep the lights and machines running (Bad juju to leave precision machinery idle). And all can be taken with the stroke of a pen from a drooling chomo who doesn’t know what he’s signing.

but the good news, they can still blame Trump.

That's just one downstream effect.
Material suppliers (welding rods for example with vendors who now have a glut of inventory in anticipation of future orders), equipment rentals, safety equipment vendors, grocery stores, department stores, gas stations and on and on.
ALL of those businesses are going to be affected in multiple locations.

You are correct. If we don’t have a shared belief where the majority WORKS to sustain and advance the overall system it will eventually FAIL like the Soviets did with a whimper.

Our Pinocchio puppet usurper is pushing Obama’s divisive program as a new religion, equity over equality. That’s totally opposed to the Equal Rights Act and Martin Luther King’s vision that we see each other for our worth rather than our appearance.

If most modern Americans lack the knowledge or courage to see their hard-won rights are at stake perhaps they deserve to lose them and live like worms. We have failed our youth allowing them to be indoctrinated with the proven failed philosophies of communism fervently held on to by hippies enjoying their own protected commune of tenure in the university system.

Biden the Puppet has not had to answer for this swath of destruction so far his masters are surely emboldened to go for more. As I’m a patriot who’s been here over twenty years I have failed you, me and our nation for not seeing and keeping up with this sheer evil overtaking our government. Had no idea the GOPe had no patriotism at all nor money or threats could turn nearly anyone if they were put into a corner (judicial system).

Lets take it back and do right.
