I was momentarily relieved that we'd be able to stop the insanely radical plans the Dems seem to have to "Change America" (TM) - for about an hour or two - until it hit me that Manchin and Sinema's "promises" are probably worth DIDDLY. Yet, McConnell - as he pretty much ALWAYS does, backed away from his one position of power and all he got back was a double pinky "but, I swear!" promise.
The fact he's now Tweeting threats today sure gives me the impression he's now not so confident in those double pinky promises after all.
They don't call Republicans the Stupid Party for nothing. Mitch better have a thermonuclear warhead or ten up his sleeve to respond with if they pull anything - which I'd almost guarantee they will.

90% of what’s wrong with the Senate comes under the heading of “comity”.

Translation: You can steal the presidency, and I don’t care, but if you attempt to take my ability to get “donations” by making my minority meaningless, that would be going too far.

With the “tough stance coming” statement out of the way, it’s time to move on to the capitulation phase.

When Democrats control an institution, the rules are what they say they are and will be subject to revision, elimination or selective enforcement as it best suits their goals.
Same with tradition or historical precedent. These things only matter when it benefits them.
Frankly, I don’t give two hoots what RINO Mitch whines about!
I think Mitch is a bit naive in regards to what the Dems goals are.
