The Virginia Board of Elections rule allowing officials to count ballots that arrived without a postmark up to three days after the election was illegal, a state judge ruled.

Like many other things I question the timing. Judge puts a hold on the law before the election but can’t rule until after inauguration.

At least in this case he stopped the change BEFORE the election so the ballots, in theory, were never counted.

I read the article (there's a first time for everything) but didn't notice how many of those ballots were counted and for whom they cast.

But in NY, they will allow 1,000 late ballots so they can flip the race from the current GOP leading it. NY-22

It doesn’t give numbers but says the rule was blocked and “none” of the ballots counted. I would like to know how many people were surprised and forgot about the election and didn’t get their ballots in on time.

But can’t the result of an election under those circumstances be nullified, even if the illegality was determined after the fact?
