Actor Tim Matheson took a not-so-subtle swipe at former First Lady Melania Trump while praising her successor Dr. Jill Biden in a now-deleted tweet.
Following the backlash that took place after members of the National Guard were sent out of the Capitol building and into a cold parking lot, the first lady appeared for a photo op with a group of them while carrying baskets of candy.
The "National Lampoon's Animal House" star reacted to the gesture by complimenting Biden, which included an indirect jab at her predecessor.
"So wonderful to have a First Lady with class and heart. And, can speak English!" Matheson exclaimed.

After giving it some thought, the real problem here is that
Matheson couldn’t understand English.
I could understand every word she said.
A boring character in a classic comedy thinks he has the gravitas to think he is in same Universe as Melania. Jill is probably his last chance date. She may be too smart for him. Ha! Just kidding.
Melania Trump speaks in addition to her native Slovenian, she speaks four other languages: English, French, Serbian and German.

EdD’s don’t have to speak any language other than the language of instruction. Jill Biden’s dissertation demonstrates sufficiency in English and that’s about all.
Melanie speaks, I think, five languages (Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, IItalian, Frennch and German).
At a no staff allowed dinner sponsored by Chancellor Merkel for the G-7, Melania acted as her husband’s translator. For example, with Putin, who speaks German. When she visited hospitals overseas as First Lady, she was often able to speak too children in their language.
As for her chosen career as a fashion model, I thought she looked great in gowns at a state dinner or in jeans at a site dealing with flooding. She shared (and we can hope continues to share) her gift and dedication to beauty with others.
Honest to God, I had to look this plick up and what Mr. “not madderstoanyone” claim to fame is.
