The problem is there’s no going back. Right now, there is a limited group of people who do drugs; legalization creates new markets. How many people do you know that don’t drink?
Today’s mj is crazy potent; effs you up more than liquor can, and in a matter of minutes. It’s not just a high as in the old days; it’s almost hallucinogenic, and it has physical/balance effects, as well. More car accidents, absolutely.

We’ve come a long way since Nancy Reagan lecturing us wee kiddies about the evils of marijuana. This is one area where I agree with most Dems (other being capital punishment).

my neighbor keeps smoking while he works from home. Nothing I can do about it, anymore than he can stop me lighting up my cigars. That's liberty for ya.

In Washington State you can’t drive down the street without your vehicle being filled with the skunk like odor of marijuana smoke from drivers ahead of you. In the evening when you sit outside on a warm summer evening, the skunk like odor of marijuana forces you back inside. Go for it Virginia!

Main difference from booze is it takes longer to get a buzz and the hangover you get from booze in the morning is far worse.
Do not recommended weed as it is just another crutch to prevent one from dealing with life’s challenges and does have health consequences. However, also does not cause your liver to go out (as booze did for members of my family).

Right now, there is a limited group of people who do drugs; legalization creates new markets. Your conclusion doesn't follow from your premise; if anyone who wants pot can get it even when it's illegal, as appears to be the case, then there is no "new market."
Today’s mj is crazy potent; effs you up more than liquor can
Nonsense - either one can give you a mild buzz or wupe you out, depending on amount consumed.

"...Killing more than drunks." "Link?" "Link?" is always the reply, because the research for driving has been a matter of obtaining data from illegal drugs, and because the government doesn't want to fund studies that would inhibit legalization. They should give free hits with the COvid vacs and let people drive home. Legalization efforts would die quickly. Let's be real, this is a matter of taking more money from peoples' wages through taxes.

That link does not support your claim "In my neck of the woods pothead drivers are killing more people than drunks"; it supports only the much weaker statement "In my neck of the woods pothead drivers are killing people" (which of course they did before legalization too).

if anyone who wants pot can get it even when it's illegal, as appears to be the case, then there is no "new market" Its like saying people can speed now, so if we take away speed limits, no more people will speed. Illegality and penalties deter people from breaking the law. Also, take a marketing course. Marketing grows markets and increases users of a product. You must own a store, amiright? Screw up children's lives much?

You sound like someone haunted by a lot of demons and have a serious history/current substance abuse problem.

Most research gets government support LOL. You've obviously never worked in research (I have). Government funds what it wants to. Research that stems tax revenue streams is not looked upon favorably. It used to be different: "Why do you think they call it dope?" Dope shop owners peddling dope. MEssing up kids' lives, one inner-city Black kid at a time.

THEY need to smoke a lot weed and keep telling themselves how great they are..and don’t forget to blame Trump for all of your screw ups.

Its like saying people can speed now, so if we take away speed limits, no more people will speed. Illegality and penalties deter people from breaking the law. Speeding on a public road is much easier to catch than a drug sale that can take place anywhere.
Marketing grows markets and increases users of a product.
For all products? I doubt it.
You must own a store, amiright?
Wrong as usual. But your quick descent to argument ad hominem is noted.

I never understand why dope users are such big fans of legalization. If you’re not profiting from legalization, and you’re already an addict, why would you care about legalizing? SO you can get wasted in public? OR do you just think you can compete better with other dope addicts in society?

Wrong yet again.
Government funds what it wants to. Research that stems tax revenue streams is not looked upon favorably.
Not only have you provided no evidence that government turns down grant applications that might go against legalization - you haven't even supplied so much as a specific anecdote from you alleged experience, just the usual Drug Warrior hot air and bluster.
