Protesters set fires and hurled bricks in a daylong assault on the city hosting Donald Trump’s inauguration, registering their rage against the new president in a series of clashes that led to more than 200 arrests. Police used pepper spray and stun grenades to prevent the chaos from spilling into Trump’s formal procession and evening balls.
Several spirited demonstrations unfolded peacefully at various security checkpoints near the Capitol as police helped ticket-holders get through to the inaugural ceremony. Signs read, “Resist Trump Climate Justice Now,” ″Let Freedom Ring” and “Free Palestine.”

They need enemies.
Dangerous criminals.
Terrorists.
Evil white nationalists.
If they can’t find some, then create them!
Life is easy when you know the rules.
You cannot have organs of internal security
without an internal threat.
If none exists, one will be created in order

Riots during trumps inaugural ping
“Spirited demonstrations at checkpoints” kept many Trump supporters from even attempting to attend the 2017 Inauguration 2017. Even though the article is slanted, it at least does report what was going on in Washington. Now AP would simply not report that the left was rioting.

There were a lot of troops in 2017. Roof top snipers. Black suburbans parked everywhere. no weapons and the mall was completed fenced in/out? all the way around 17th street. Not sure of the numbers.
And at the end of the day Sleepy Joe is still the president-elect and they have nothing to show for it except a criminal conviction.
