President Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani went on record saying that he'll be part of the defense team in the impeachment trial before the US Senate in the near future.
While the date for the trial to start hasn't been set yet, it is expected to take place in the days following the scheduled inauguration of Joe Biden on Wednesday.
"I'm involved right now … that's what I'm working on," said the ex NYC mayor, according to ABC News.
Giuliani to this day claims that there was widespread election fraud that could easily have changed the outcome of the elections, and plans to introduce and re-introduce evidence at such impeachment trial, both to defend the President and to further raise awareness. Dozens of courts have dismissed or ruled against claims brought forth by the Trump legal team.
"They basically claimed that anytime [Trump] says voter fraud, voter fraud -- or I do, or anybody else -- we're inciting to violence; that those words are fighting words because it's totally untrue. Well, if you can prove that it's true, or at least true enough so it's a legitimate viewpoint, then they are no longer fighting words," mentioned Giuliani.
Giuliani went on, suggesting that Trump should move for a dismissal:
"If they decide to bring it to a trial, [Trump] should move to dismiss the impeachment as entirely illegal. That it was the only impeachment ever done in what, two days, three days. We would say to the court, 'You are now permitting in the future, basically in two days, the Congress can just impeach on anything they want to."

I don’t think it’s ever been done but the remedy is removal from office but they will try to argue he should be banned from seeking office again. That’s their goal and that is unacceptable.
