What’s strange is that I haven’t seen any discussion or prognostication as to how many republican senators would vote to convict.
I can’t believe that there would be 17 Judas, in which case this kabuki theater is all a charade.
It appears that he won’t be representing Trump:
“Rudy Giuliani tells ABC News he will not be part of President Donald Trump’s legal team for the upcoming Senate impeachment trial.”
“Because I gave an earlier speech [at the January 6 Trump rally before the Capitol riot],” Giuliani told ABC News Sunday night, “I am a witness and therefore unable to participate in court or Senate chamber.”
Trump is going to expose the election fraud in his impeachment trail. They fell into the trap.
Except we see reporting that he can’t because he spoke at the rally which makes him a witness.
If there’s such a trial Rudy doesn’t need to be on Trump’s defense team.

They're going to claim that he was impeached while in office, hence the need to rush it through the House, and that the Senate trial is still required by the Constitution. How that will play with the courts remains to be seen.
