Jenna Ryan, a Texas real estate broker who took a private jet to Washington to join the attack on the US Capitol, has pleaded with Donald Trump to pardon her after she was arrested by federal authorities.
Turning to look into the camera, she said: “I would ask the president of the United States to give me a pardon.”...

Albert Watkins said his client had no criminal history and was an “active practitioner of yoga”. He also mentioned Chansley’s diet, which has caused him to reject non-organic meals in federal custody."
Make it a triple secret impeachment: Issue a blanket pardon for anyone who did not pay taxes.
Why do supposedly smart people such dumb things. The Prez never said to riot he asked for peaceful protests.
Because people are social animals and will sometimes do dumb things when they think they have permission to do so because other people are doing it.
She should have kept herself away from the potential of violent, by standing off to the side.
I think that pardons would help in achieving reconciliation, and allow healing of these social rifts. Most of the rioters were not involved in violence against other people (those cases are different and more serious.)
All the selfie only people who were misled by Capitol Police (removing the barricades and opening the doors) and just wandered through the public hallways should get a pardon.
“We all deserve a pardon.”
No.. you don’t. President Trump said in no uncertain term terms to keep it legal and peaceful, yet you entered that building anyway. You committed an act that against wrongly impugned Trump supporters across the country, and President Trump paid yet another price for it. Do the crime, do the time.
She can afford a private jet but not a good lawyer?
I just shake my head at anyone who let themselves get suckered into the false flag operation by the Antifa goons. The moment I saw the first videos of these guys at the front of the crowd, fighting with police, I knew they were leftist infiltrators.
First, it’s absurd to think that real Trump supporting conservatives would be standing at a barricade shoving the police, throwing things at them, hitting them with stuff, including shields, and just generally acting like animals. Second, I don’t care how much Trump paraphernalia they had on, it was still dead obvious that these idiots were not actual Trump supporters. They looked EXACTLY like I would imagine Antifa leftists trying to role play as Trump supporters would look. They still looked like scruffy, dirty hippies, their language had more curse words than non-curse words, and despite the feeble disguises they still had all of the usual Antifa gear like helmets, gas masks, backpacks, shields, bats and other weapons, etc.
To anyone who was undiscerning enough to get caught in Antifa’s trap, I don’t know what to say other than “Learn to be aware of your surroundings, and take a moment to look before you leap.” However, I do think that the majority of actual Trump supporters there (who were still a tiny fraction of those who attended the speech), remained peaceful and did nothing more than climb the steps and wave flags. Those folks should face at most, if anything, a simple trespassing charge (though the left does FAR worse on a routine basis without suffering any consequences).
Then you had the smaller, but still significant number of Trump supporters who were apparently guided by the Capitol police to an open door and allowed to look around inside. Many of these people said that they thought that the police were letting them see the Capitol, as if they were being given a tour. None of these people did anything wrong, and none of them should face any consequences (though the police should - something very concerning was happening there).
And finally, there was an unknown, but apparently extremely small number of Trump supporters who allowed themselves to get caught up in Antifa’s manufactured rage and who followed the disguised leftists in through broken windows and doors. I don’t know if any of these people did any actual damage, and the vast majority (probably several hundred) of the people doing the damage inside were Antifa, but any Trump supporter who went to this extreme deserves to be punished pretty harshly. Obviously one of them, Ashli Babbitt, lost her life because she got caught up in a group of Antifa idiots who set her up to be shot, so she unfortunately paid the ultimate price.
The media are lying, as are almost all of the politicians, about what happened at the Capitol, but to those few who did step over the line, we’ve got to be smarter than that.
The Democrats blame Trump. The press blames Trump.
And now these so-called Trump supporters are blaming Trump for their actions?
+. Good post!
Well said.
Amen. Totally agree.
And you lost me there. Nobody wants reconciliation, not the Democrat and not the Republicans.
I found a picture of Capitol Rotunda “rioters” rubber-necking from between velvet ropes, and sent it to all my friends...
:)
Are they arresting anyone who was in there regardless of their behavior? (Minus journalists)
Sone people just walked in and did not act crazy.
I was there that day but did not try to enter the Capitol for the reasons you stated. I knew nothing good would come of it and it would reflect badly on Trump. In fact, I did not even know the Capitol was penetrated (on the inside) until after I left the scene, because cell service was abysmal and I couldn't get any outside news of what was going on.
Otherwise law-abiding people did get caught up in the moment however and did things like climb the bleachers and mount the Capitol steps (where the inaugurations are held). Maybe they shouldn't even have done that but what they did was certainly not criminal. One should also take into account the surge of the crowd. When Trump asked us to go to the Capitol (after the rally), I was led to believe we were going to be standing behind barricades where we would wave our flags and be heard. But when we arrived, all barricades were down and we were all pretty much surging closer and closer to the building itself. Some turned to leave but it was rough going as there were tens of thousands of people you had to fight through to get yourself back on the street.
There were bad actors trying to incite us and lead us on. I remember a guy with a bullhorn shouting MOVE FORWARD, MOVE FORWARD.

You pretty much covered it. Those let in by the cops who can be seen with the velvet rope tour were not in the wrong, and behaved fine. Those who entered like thieves, through a broken window, are another matter.
“Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. ——John 10:1
