Yes, people have tried to examine and hack them - with success, which is why many State’s refused to use them. I have seen nor read anything about SOURCE CODE (not binary executables) being made available for line-by-line examination. If that had happened there would be zero questions about whether they connect to networks (wireless or not).
Second, the tabulation machines are one thing. Then there’s the PC’s they get to download to and then the servers they connect to. This system is a cybersecurity nightmare. There is ZERO reason to believe in its integrity. It’s practically convoluted by design. That the operator can ‘decide’ what a vote is and move votes around is an abomination.
FYI...I’m a software architect. I have spoken at conferences on cybersecurity. This thing isn’t just a problem, it is designed to enable fraud.
That you’re defending this ‘product’ and the conduct shown by the owners is disturbing. I’ve followed this for months, I’ve seen ‘altered data’ feeds. There is no question that thousands of votes were switched. I have the data files on my PC.
As software EXPERT I have zero confidence in the integrity of our elections using such systems. I have seen NOTHING to indicate that the SOURCE CODE has been examined by 3rd parties. They have patents they claim to be protecting. I have no idea where you’re getting your information but extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence...especially considering whom owns the company and the business & political relationships surrounding it.

All your meandering words can be summed up with Pontius Pilate’s 3-word assertion, “what is truth?” which was a heady browbeating cocksure complicity that there is NO truth. But the capital T Truth was looking right into his eyes at that very moment and Pilate sent that Truth to die.
No one denies that Jesus died that day, and that He died for merely uttering words. That is the starting point truth, then you proceed to understand what His words meant. His enemies sure understood.

Did they “go silent” because they chose to go silent, or because they were deliberately censored and removed from the internet? There are a lot of things that search engines used to pull up, that don’t exist anymore. If it is the latter, I would not be too surprised.

You’re incredibly naive...sorry. You’re basically stating that the government doing an audit of the equipment they decided to buy, knowing what could be done, is, somehow, trustworthy.
I am a software expert - I’m not going to argue with you, these machines are not secure. It isn’t debatable - all you need to understand is their architecture.
