I'm just checking in. I already have a MeWe account as an alternative to Facebook, which I plan to leave on Jan. 20. Unfortunately, MeWe, just like Parler used to be, is on Amazon servers, so another Facebook-like app would be appropriate as an alternative.
MeWe seems safe for now, but you never know when the temperamental Wokey McWokersons of Amazon will determine that MeWe offends them and remove them from the servers.
So, I just wanted to know if anybody else is on there and what their experience has been like. Thanks in advance.
I meant the title as a question, of course.
I am on both MeWe and on Couthub. MeWe seems a bit easier to navigate. That said, I dropped Facebook like a bad habit a couple of years ago.
I am, but you don’t know me, lol. Not sure if you’re looking for people to follow, but I’m just a boring old grandma. I’ve actually signed up for every alternate social media site that I’ve seen people mention. I’m having a hard time keeping them all straight, though.
Is there a FR group on Clouthub, like there is on MeWe?
I am, it’s certainly not a Parler.
No but Abl has eschewed Parler and Gab for beta site clubhouse.
Everyone should have as many alternates as possible....just in case.
I’m on there. Signed up months ago. The web app is still buggy and since they’re getting a lot of new signups, a little slow. I like mewe a little better. Didn’t know they were on AWS. Where’d you hear or read that?
As usual, my memory fails me where exactly I read that, but I did read it.
I have Clouthub and it was good before it was taken down. I will be checking out MeWe.
Minds is where Colin Flathery went to.
Abl is youtube user Anthony Logan Brian.
Intellectual Froglegs just uses his own n site.
There is also Bitchute for videos.
I think at some point things are going to head this way; https://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3924224/posts?page=33#33
Distributed Social Network
1,000 servers, each with 1,000 people for a total of 1,000,000. All servers are capable of interacting with each other via encrypted protocols. 1,000 people on a server means it doesn’t have to be some huge data center running multiple servers or worse, using AWS. Just regular web hosting. Not $5/mth hosting mind you but nothing all that special either. Even if it was $100/mth, that works out to 10 cents per user.
Blockchain/decentralized platforms are the future of “Social Media” if looking for censorship/”Big Brother” resistance:

I am going to check out “Uptrennd” & “http://Hyprr.com” soon.
It’s apparently back up. I caught myself before completing signup so I could ask others about their experience.
It is?
If I can believe my eyes, I just got on it and it responds, seconds ago.
