Gab CEO completely backed up President Trump’s Twitter account before it was deleted and recreated him on Gab! What’s even more impressive is the did this while traffic was up 700% and under attack from leftists. Gab is currently having servers upgraded to handle the large influx in traffic but we’re told it should stabilize soon.

No it only requires an email. I used a protonmail.com account that also does not require a phone number.
I was able to sign up last night. Took numerous attempts.
Prepare for some LAG in the signup procedure. GAB is a real mess right now.
I like it. You do not have to provide a phone number and the layout looks a lot like FB.
I’m still getting used to it but it is not difficult.

Right now he is occupied in very serious business with short time frame. I've been told he and his family are safe and I think this will not be over on Jan. 20.
My bet is on Trump. If copyright law is anything like patent law Twitter can’t claim copyright on someone else’s original work/art. Of course it’s probably in Twitters TOS in which case it goes to arbitration.

I got up in the middLe of the night, around 3 AM TO MAKE A BATHROOM RUN. SINCE I WAS UP I DECIDED TO RETRY GAB AND REGISTERED, IN LIKE FLYNN.
The problem GAB is having now is just volume of traffic.
But that will likely soon change as the virus attacks from the left begin.
Gab already went through what Parler is going through. They are operating outside of silicon valley. Problem is, like freerepublic, it’s funded by users, so fast growth is near impossible. Also people can’t use credit cards or paypal to donate. People have to be patient.
I tried to read stuff on Populist Press yesterday a couple times, but the screen was covered with all kinds of ad crap. Not just relatively obscure ads along the side, but covering the whole screen.

I think they were not prepared for the huge interest in them with the revelation of twitters traitorous moves. I am in, but it is slow due to the traffic. If you can get on, be sure to support them in their quest to free social media (and watch out for trolls!)...

It’s very heavy usage slowing the stuff down. I don’t know the architecture so I can’t comment on how efficient their platform is. I suspect it is very well coded.
It’s not an app, it’s a very well done modern web interface that works one way on a desktop and another when you are using a mobile device. You really don’t need to build an app to do cool things. The gab guys are smart, they are not tied to the google store or Apple.
Unless the left figures out how to cut their net connection and/or if they are running bare metal in a colo and the colo kicks them it’s going to be hard to snuff gab. I suspect they are doing their own server farm and infrastructure in-house. I’m very familiar with that.
Lizardboi does not control coding and neither does the dirty beard guy. What Facetwit has done is give other coders a fantastic opportunity to invent and invent they will!
