You wrote that already and has no bearing on this particular issue. It took a four-year Civil War and hundreds of thousands of dead Americans to clear that little question up.

How are the courts going to stop an impeachment from going forward when the Democrats control the White House, Senate, and the House? If need be they would simply pack the court with judges who will vote the way they want them to.

AGAIN, I agree with you in principle. However, it’s very likely that this is going to happen. Whether or not there would be a conviction in the Senate is another matter but I’d hate to roll the dice under those circumstances.

Clyburn is clearly an illiterate low IQ dumba@ss.

He obviously hasn’t read the Constitution and/or he doesn’t understand it because he’s so stupid.

The Constitution does not provide for impeaching an ex-president, a private citizen. Impeachment is for a sitting president.

My GAWD, where do they dig up these STUPID STUPID people in Congress? Clyburn is scary STUPID.

Do you think that a single one of the founders would have given more than a half second thought that gay marriage was a constitutionally protected righty? Of course leaving office should render impeachment irrelevant, but that won’t stop the Democrats if that’s what they want to do. As I have pointed out, a private citizen (resigned or otherwise), was still impeached by the US Congress. If the Democrats that are coming into complete control decide to impeach after the fact, whether for political calculations, to send a message for other outsiders who might want to run in the future, or just pure vindictiveness, they will do so.

A second impeachment by the Rats will be a big mistake, just like the first one was.

The Rats think they will taint Trump in history with a second stupid unconstitutional impeachment. I don’t think he’ll be tainted in the long run, he has a magnificent record of accomplishments while he’s been president.

But the Rats will be tainted for their reckless hatred and stupidity. They accomplished nothing that truly helped the American people, they were too consumed with “getting” Trump.

Nanzi, Bride of Satan, will be remembered as one of the nastiest, incompetent hateful Speakers, ever. The only reason she gets away with her deranged crap now is because she’s a woman and she loves abortion.

I don’t argue the wisdom of such a move, only that is very likely to happen. And with complete control of the government, outside the judicial branch which is uncertain at best, I would not rule out the possibility that Trump will be declared ineligible to ever run for president again after a second impeachment and conviction.

The Rat,@ssholes in the House can do whatever they want, it will blow back in their stupid, hateful ugly faces.

Trump won’t be POTUS as of 1 pm on 1/20, and the Constitution only provides for impeachment and removal of a sitting president—not an ex-president, not a private citizen.

This deranged hateful stupidity by House will die in the Senate as it should. And what have the House Democrats accomplished other than failed attempted impeachments? That’s right, NOTHING!

Meanwhile, The Bride of Satan is on a manic foaming-at-the-mouth bender, becoming more unhinged and delusional with each passing hour. She has no idea how many men in D.C are quietly saying among themselves, “This woman is BAT SH*T crazy, she’s proof that women should not be put in high positions in government; they’re too emotional, unpredictable and out of control.”

Why not add some names to that list? Reagan, Bush, Bush Jr, Nixon, Lincoln, Jefferson, Washington, Adams, Madison, Alito, Thomas, Barrett, Kavanaugh, etc, etc, etc can all go on, and then the Dems only have to impeach/ban a single time! That’ll save a LOT of time to buy more helicopters to throw money out of!

An impeached President can never run for federal office again. So it doesn’t matter if the trial occurs after he leaves office. They want to make sure he doesn’t run in 2024.

Wrong. All the impeachment does is send it to the Senate for a trial, at which point they determine guilty or not. At that point, you're removed from office, but that's it. It takes additional effort to add extra punishments such as a ban from Federal office, and the Senate specifically has to want to also do that.

We who are conservative and vote GOP are looking for another candidate who will push the best ways to MAGA and roll back socialism who isn’t as abrasive and feckless as Trump.

Who?

“Of course you can.”

Correct. They can and they will impeach Trump again.

The Senate would not be able to remove him from office because he will already be out of office. But they could sanction him and vote to permanently disqualify Trump from holding office in the United States.

There is also precedent. In 1876 War Secretary William Belknap had resigned but they impeached him anyway.

“The Senate convened its trial in early April, with Belknap present, after agreeing that it retained impeachment jurisdiction over former government officials. During May, the Senate heard more than 40 witnesses, as House managers argued that Belknap should not be allowed to escape from justice simply by resigning his office.

On August 1, 1876, the Senate rendered a majority vote against Belknap on all five articles. As each vote fell short of the necessary two-thirds, however, he won acquittal. Belknap was not prosecuted further; he died in 1890.”

“ Yes we have them and the House easily is within reach.”

Yes the glorious days of GOP controlling the House under Speakers Ryan, Boehner and of course the friend to all teenage boys Dennis Hastert. I remember all the great things they wanted to accomplish but never could seem to get around to. I can hardly wait to see Speaker McCarthy in action building his own legacy of accomplishing nothing for the voters and everything for the big donors. If he plays his cards right he’ll have some lucrative corporate board seats in retirement like Paul Ryan.

“However there seems to be no constitution so that may be it.“

In this day the Constitution means whatever 5 Supreme Court justices say it means, unless of course they punt and don’t take the case.

He doesn’t know what he’s talking about, As usual. You cannot impeach a private citizen and you cannot impeach a man after he’s left office.

And the outcome will likely be the same for Trump as it was for Belknap. There will certainly be a few R votes against Trump, but not the 17 R votes required to reach two thirds and convict. That won't stop Schumer from putting on a circus trial.
