There is no doubt that Free Republic will be a target of the Blob. They will pressure the current Internet Service Provider, if it's based in the US, to cancel service based upon alleged threats of violence uttered by some.

I wonder if FR is recording IP Address, if so those need to be deleted. Also is there a dead man switch to delete our email addresses.
I do recommend everybody set up VPN on their browsers.
If you have a social media account with your real name, delete it.

Website forums and it's members, like FR, will almost certainly be purged in the second wave...
The best thing that Freepers can hope for now is that all FR past records can be thoroughly deleted before we face them as evidence in our insurrection trials...
IMHO, the purge should be reaching FR's doorstep sometime next summer...

I use OpenDNS but since it is owned by Cisco, I wouldn’t consider it on “our side” with respect to conservative social media.
Iceland? They seem a bit too European to me? Cayman Islands or somewhere else in the Caribbean would be better.

Not to be a jerk, but if you don't understand this very basic stuff, you won't know how to circumvent the blocks that your internet service can put in your way to prevent access to content they don't want you to look at, which is 99% of internet users.
I am not shaming anyone who does not know this, the internet has become the primary consumer communications service, so the average person should not need to know any of this.
With all of that being said, here is a high level explanation of what I have been talking about.
DNS stands for Doman Name System which maps a computer's unfriendly machine address to a friendly one which is easily remembered (i.e. currently 45.79.56.181 to freerepublic.com).
The various servers which make up DNS are run by corporations, and they could decide to remove mappings for sites they don't want you to look at, such as in China today.

Oh yeah FR is finished... I reckon we will have to get a shortwave radio and hide in the closet listening to whining and feedback as in Radio Free Europe to get other than processed govn information...
