I use 1.1.1.1 and have used the OpenDNS addresses.

The vast majority of home computer owners use the default DNS from their cable provider. Even phones use the cell phone provider’s DNS, by default.

We exercised our backup plan for the first time on Nov 15, 2020. We were up and running on our new platform the next day for most people and I think it was a day or so longer for most of the rest (DNS issues). John says we can do better next time, God willing. Details are classified.
