An attorney representing President Trump in one of his dozens of lawsuits challenging the 2020 election moved to withdraw from the case on Thursday, telling a federal court that the president used him to "perpetrate a crime."
Philadelphia-based attorney Jerome Marcus asked the court to allow him to withdraw, citing concerns over Pennsylvania's professional conduct standards for lawyers.
Marcus wrote that "the client has used the lawyer's services to perpetrate a crime and the client insists upon taking action that the lawyer considers repugnant and with which the lawyer has a fundamental disagreement."

Not how it's supposed to be done. Yes, a lawyer must move to withdraw if (supposing it's true) the client demands that the lawyer do something illegal (like presenting false testimony). But you never put that in publicly-filed papers. You file a motion to withdraw saying there is "an irreconcilable disagreement" with the client, or something bland like that; if the client, or the judge, pushes back, you say "judge, we need to discuss this in chambers." You never accuse publicly your own client of illegality if there's any way to avoid it.
I have no idea what the back-story is here, but this lawyer is very much not impressing me with his sense of legal ethics.

Sense of legal ethics? I get the guy is probably trying to protect his livelihood because dem thugs are going to come after him, but he should be disbarred for his clearly unethical “motion”.

What’s the crime?

"the lawyer considers repugnant"
That paints a vivid picture. Imagine how bad something would have to be for a lawyer to consider it repugnant.
Of course, he is a professional liar...

Really weird that everyone is running away from Trump. It’s not natural.

Trump picked this lawyer? Good grief.
To: reasonisfaith
Especially if they ever want to work in these United States again.
Or don’t want a full up IRS audit every. single. year.
Or endure years or even decades of very expensive malicious and unfounded prosecution.
