Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he’s concerned about the “shocking failures” of security at the Capitol, when a mob of President Trump’s supporters was able to break into the premises in an attempt to halt certification of Trump’s re-election defeat.
“The ultimate blame for yesterday lies with the unhinged criminals who broke down doors, trampled our nation’s flag, fought with law enforcement, and tried to disrupt our democracy, and with those who incited them,” McConnell said.

Those unhinged people are those who voted for you mitch.
Fair enough. What I want to know is what McConnell is going to do to identify Ashli’s shooter and bring him to justice?
what? you dont think that COVID is going to be spread among them with them being so tight together in their undisclosed loction??/
That Baked Alaska dude is positive for Covid 19 and had no mask on....so there is just one spreader right there
They will investigate this and they should, but no investigation of the election.
“Another example showing that the deep state is incredibly inept at security and intelligence. And this was in the deep state’s front yard.”
And all the bad actors in the world saw that.
It was deliberate.
Insights welcome.
“There you have it. At least 90% of DC is against the patriots. Any thoughts of the military or the police supporting conservatives is probably gone now.”
I always thought the military would split 50/50, and LE would split along similar lines but based on location (city LE would probably split 15/85 in favor of the lefties, but rural LE and sheriff’s departments would probably go 60/40 in favor of conservatives. Now, I have my doubts.
McConnell, you incited the mob with your easy acceptance of criminal election fraud.
Hey Mitch,
Maybe they don’t like you and deliberately allowed this to happen.
I think she just wanted them off camera and didn’t care that they were actually crowded. It was hard to understand her through the mask, but I even think she said at one point that she was just doing it as an example to the public.
It’s only shocking that he pretends to know it wasn’t staged for this result. The only thing they didn’t get (that they wanted) was an armed Trump supporter shooting someone.
What they did get was a martyr.
Say her name.
Ashli Babbitt.
All other issues aside, I hope these members of Congress now understand what it feels like to be an honest, law-abiding business owner in Minneapolis, Portland, or Kenosha whose business establishment is burned to the group by a bunch of mutants and misfits.
So after failing to protect us from violent criminals the last several years, our congress critters didn’t feel safe? Welcome to my world Mitch! If you allow violence outside of your gated communities, please don’t act so scandalized when it overflows into your safe spaces. And by the way, Mitch - not sure you could even call this violent, except how that young lady was violently gunned down.
There's video of the Capital Police opening up the barriers and welcoming them in. There are selfies taken inside with the Capital Police.
Yes, I think this was a trap. Hindsight is always 20/20, but our side should not have broken through barriers or entered buildings. It would have been better to go Gandhi and stage a sit-in in front of the building and in the streets.
Was he describing ANTIFA? Oh wait...
Crazy, so Mitch is not in the loop on his House’s security? LOL
The more he opens his mouth, the more he proves he is completely out of touch with the base of the party. He clearly doesn’t understand the anger out there nor that this is not just another problem that will be solved by the decades old lie from these RHINOs to “just give us both houses of Congress and the Presidency” and watch what we will do for conservatism.
