With the correct strategy, China is easy to defeat.

Who the hell is talking about invading China?

For what reason?

What a ridiculous idea.

Damned the Democrats and their endless wars.

Who the hell wants to invade China?!? Let the damned chicoms keep, isolate them and they’ll kill themselves off eventually. That big dam they built doesn’t look too stable, maybe they could move the party hq to the base of it.

Maybe the Chinese people will finally have enough and end the problem themselves.

No American son or daughter needs to be sent to die in China. Flipping ridiculous.

Why not do what we did with the Soviets?

Have them spend themselves broke!

1.We should always have a plan and the infrastructure to fight and win against any opponent. But..

2. We shouldn't advertise to that opponent that we don't have a spitwad's chance against them - if we don't have that capability.

OK, then, how about Finland?

We need articles about invading Leichtenstein, too.

Why not articles about invading Australia? If we’re going to annex some country why not one where we can swap BBQ recipes and enjoy the beer?

Save the articles about invading China for after our overdue invasion of Cuba, which is at least within innertubing distance of Key West.

Let’s suppose by some miracle we took over China. OMG! What then? Relief supplies for a billion people? Providing free medical care for a billion people?

No. China imports almost all of its raw materials and much of its food. Cutting off the imports will cost virtually nothing. It can be done thousands of miles away from 95% of the Chinese navy. Then, just wait. Within six weeks the lights go out in China. Once all the cell phones die, they will surrender. Then, take whatever started the war and go home. Tell them, “hey, call us when you’re back up and running.”

No value in stating this, even if likely so in a traditional, kinetic sense.

In 1965 my father was a Major assigned to the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. He went to Thailand for Exercise Logtrain, an exercise to evaluate the supply and transportation infrastructurein Asia to see if it would support a large scale US military invasion. Conclusion, do not get involved in a land war in Asia.

As Vizzini said in the movie Princess Bride, “You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is to never get involved in a land war in Asia.”

Are there people actually considering this?

There is more insanity around than I thought.

A straw man argument.

Under current conditions and circumstances there is no rationale now for the U.S. invading China.

Circumstances and conditions could change, but knowing what those changes were would be required to judge the idea of invading China.

Speculation outside of knowledge about those things is silly.

[Then there is the issue of China’s rugged, mountainous terrain]

Maybe I am missing something here, but my English translation of China’s Iliad, The Three Kingdoms, keeps referring to the Central Plains. Were they referring to the women’s looks rather than geographical features?

Nobody with any sense wants to invade China. Why write an article about something nobody is even considering?
