Eric Jackson Hall, 29 of Pulaski, was reported missing after his family had not heard from him since December 29. He has health issues, adding to the family’s concern, according to police. Hall stands 5' 8", weighs 135 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last reported seen wearing jeans, a t-shirt and a denim jacket with a faux fur collar. He goes by the alias “Gamma,” according to the Pulaski Police Department. He has health issues, adding to the family’s concern. His mother reported that he sometimes says his name is Gamma. If he sounds like he is trying to affect a British accent, Gamma is the dominant personality. Gamma is not a particularly nice person, even though Eric is. His last known location was near Love’s Truck Stop in Wythe County.
If you have any information, please contact: Pulaski Police Department (Virginia) at 540-994-8689
Anyone with helpful tips is asked to contact 540-994-8689.
This is a young man who was close with my son in high school and for a time afterwards. He’s since developed serious mental issues in the form of Schizophrenia. He hears voices and is apparently without money, or a working cell phone. His family is overcome with worry.
Prayers that he is found and is well.
Hopefully they find him and get him help.
My understanding is that when people with these issues start feeling better, they quit taking their meds.
Anyone in the I-81/I-77 vicinity and surrounding regions please keep his face in mind when you are out and about. He needs serious help and his family need to find him.
I’m guessing he could be anywhere in the S.W. Virginia region and down to Charlotte, or over to Bristol, TN, or up I-77 towards Bluefield, WV.
Thank you and any prayers for the family would be appreciated.
Yes, I also have a nephew with the same diagnosis who lives with my sister-in-law. He’s an adult also and the system does pretty much ZERO to help these families. Their response is always...”they’re adults and can make their own decisions” which is a load of BULL!
How can you make your own decisions when you believe you can time travel? Or hear voices? It’s a terrible time for Eric’s family, and for my nephews who at least do have him home and taking his meds...for the time being anyway.
Also want to add he was, and I’m sure still is deep down, an extremely intelligent individual who had dreams of attending Berkley. Very, talented musician on several instruments. So it’s quite a shock to me anyway this happened to him. I guess mental illness doesn’t care who it strikes.
Having worked in “front line” medicine for years I’ve encountered many schizophrenics in my day. They lead sad, perilous, lives.I’m sorry to say that they often suffer a tragic fate.
Yes, I’ve not worked the front line as you, but there are a couple in my immediate family with mental illness, so I see the pain and suffering the family AND victim go through. It’s one heck of a struggle. Just trying to Baker Act my nephew took an act of God by his parents.
Question. Is it difficult to obtain guardianship of an adult with mental illness? I’m trying to help the family if at all I can. Especially since I live a stone’s throw from his wife and kids from whom he is estranged now.
The system does little for them because leftists nationwide decided years ago to close down psych hospitals in favor of “community care”.They’re convinced that it’s better for a schizophrenic to freeze to death in a doorway (I’ve seen it) than to be confined in a warm,safe,hospital...as was the case 60 years ago.
Leftist a-holes :<( It’s cold here in the Blue Ridge and yes, that is a huge concern. Where on earth is he staying since he’s got no money? How is he eating?
When my sister-in-law and her husband finally got their son into a facility, they called to speak to their son. The IDIOT who was with him...his “care giver”...whatever...handed the phone over to Brian and they heard her tell their son, “You don’t have to tell them anything you dont’ want to.” Wow! That was helpful wasn’t it? So much for the “help” of that place.
Another musician with mental illness, though not as bad as Eric's.
Yeah, sorry for the misspelling. He wanted to go. Noticed your tag and Eric was an incredible sax player too. Also played bass and was very, good at that as well. I remember one summer at band camp and and my son wanted pizza :) So they played their instruments on the elevator and put out a hat so folks could tip them. They got enough to have pizza delivered. LOL. Those were the good days :(
I hope they find him alive.
This country does not do enough for the mentally ill.
We have a throwaway society.
extremely difficult to obtain guardianship.
Leftists ruined mental health care in the 70s and 80s. Closed down facilities and dropped caretaking services.
We have the mental health care of the early 1800s
“We have the mental health care of the early 1800s”
yes, but minus the facilities they used to keep them in :(
“...he has health issues...” ?
No. He’s insane and could be a danger to himself and others.
Not using the right words to describe things can have serious consequences.
Just realized my idiotic self didn’t mention in the headline this is in VIRGINIA. Pulaski/Wytheville area of Virginia. Dang. I’ll be posting it again later today or tomorrow from another link anyway. Need to find a way to get the word out somehow.
I am not going to disagree with you at all. It’s the politically correct choice I’m assuming has to be used. But on Facebook his mom is telling the facts as they are. It’s just so incredibly heartbreaking and apparently a problem for many people that is being totally ignored by society.
So far he has not been violent towards anyone, but yes he is a danger to himself if for no other reason he could freeze or starve without shelter.
Right. I’m not diminishing the importance of your concern - as you’ve acknowledged, just the troublesome and dishonest lefty speak in this press release. I hope the situation turns out well.
