Having worked in “front line” medicine for years I’ve encountered many schizophrenics in my day.They lead sad,perilous,lives.I’m sorry to say that they often suffer a tragic fate.
Yes, I’ve not worked the front line as you, but there are a couple in my immediate family with mental illness, so I see the pain and suffering the family AND victim go through. It’s one heck of a struggle. Just trying to Baker Act my nephew took an act of God by his parents.
Question. Is it difficult to obtain guardianship of an adult with mental illness? I’m trying to help the family if at all I can. Especially since I live a stone’s throw from his wife and kids from whom he is estranged now.
