Larry Schweikart:

1) Just finished a discussion with a pro-Trump congressional source on procedures. Very high.

2) On Jan. 6, all that is needed is 1 senator (Hawley) and 1 Congressman (Brooks) to bring an objection to an elector slate (almost certainly AZ, since that will be the first contested.

3) The rules are made by the previous congress; the laws already in place bind the procedures.

4) Pence has no authority on his own to accept or reject any slate. According to source, he will turn to the Parliamentarian for a ruling on how to proceed.

Yes there are ways courts will rule in favor of Prez Trump.

It takes a combination of courage and fear. Courage to do the right thing, fear that doing the wrong thing leads to overt civil war.

It has happened before.

“If Trump loses his job, they lose theirs“

They couldn’t care less. This is not an incentive for them.

Yes , the odds are very slim indeed that Mike Pence will do anything other than comment on CNN.

As far as congress ‘excepting’ (sic) electoral college decisions, it is UP TO congress to accept their VOTES and make Their own Decisions about ACCEPTING it.

This being the case? You have not made the case. Certainly NOT made the case as to why or even how it’s the right fuqqing constitutional thing to do.

Joe might be inaugurated but what does that mean for RINOs who think like you?

If u gonna support Trump then quit couching your phrasing in bullshiite .

This ain’t about congress. It’s about deep state and corruption.

Trump gave it a try. He left it all on the field. Next up is a Hail Mary pass.

Media Matters and the ChiComs seem to be popping up on EVERY poli board out there in the U.S. to spread negative propaganda.

Clear that criminals and foreign usurpers are trying to steal the office of the Presidency. We have to defend the country against all enemies — foreign AND domestic — and pledged to do so.

4) Pence has no authority on his own to accept or reject any slate. According to source, he will turn to the Parliamentarian for a ruling on how to proceed.

5) This isn’t speculation. This is how it was done LAST TIME there was an objection. In 2016. By Sheila Jackson Lee against Trump electors.

7) With a senator and Congressman objecting, the Parliamentarian then will read the rule, wherein the Senate and House retire to separate chambers to debate the objection.

8) Note: Pence has not done anything except entertain the objection. That’s all he is allowed to do.

Sorry, that’s brain dead stupid. The parliamentarian doesn’t grant or deny Pence authority, the Constitution does... and it defines him as the SOLE authority responsible for conducting this part of the election.

What the Parliamentarian does, is guide the presiding authority to conduct the event correctly, with an extensive knowledge of process, to guide it according to what the procedural RULES are... to help make sure they follow the right process, and avoid error in process. The Senate has rules. Pence will preside according to the rules. The rules determine SOME elements of process... but not all... and they don’t make judgments or decisions for you.

So, Pence probably won’t call on Wyoming before Alabama... which doesn’t mean he’ll ignore frauds being perpetrated.

Also, “the last time it was done” does not establish any precedent for this time... because last time they didn’t have a proper objection... and the proper procedure was followed in dismissing it.

The Office of the Parliamentarian in the House and Senate

https://www.senate.gov/CRSpubs/3000ff02-fb09-450c-acec-a407a19c424a.pdf

“As a staff official, neither parliamentarian is empowered to make decisions that are binding on the House or Senate. The parliamentarians and their deputies/assistants only offer advice that the presiding Representative or Senator may accept or reject; individual Members may appeal rulings.”

7) With a senator and Congressman objecting, the Parliamentarian then will read the rule, wherein the Senate and House retire to separate chambers to debate the objection.

8) Note: Pence has not done anything except entertain the objection. That’s all he is allowed to do.

I posted a very similar sentiment in 2008 when SCOTUS refused to do their job due to the prospect of racial riots.

It has always been about getting rid of Trump, in any and all ways possible. That’s it in a nutshell, any and everything so that Trump is gone. Of course, it makes me sick to my stomach, but that’s the way it is.

What are you blathering about?

Of course it’s about congress on the sixth.

They will have the opportunity to do the right thing or alternatively prove they are not legitimate and do not represent us.

What do you not understand?

In such times, cash is king.

When the Soviet Union fell, the ones who prospered most were mob bosses, drug dealers , arms sellers and some exceptionally intelligent people.

If you’re one of those, you already know what to do.

huh?

whoever said this is clueless or a gaslighter. it’s just the first battle and even this battle is far from over. jan 6 is the first major milestone. major moves going on today in many states and courts. just listen to WarRoom.

my two cents: the pressure on pence is immense and building. no one but God knows what he’ll do on jan 6. even he may not know what he’s going to do...yet. mainly because the fraud is obvious now, becoming more obvious with every passing day, and already proved beyond a reasonable doubt in several states. so if he ignores the fraud, he’s culpable and since he’s a Christian, he’ll answer to God if he’s not a good watchman. God says the “blood” will be upon him, if he falls asleep or worse fails to raise alarm of the enemy at the walls. at this point, i would have no choice but to act, or face the wrath of God.

and, btw, imo this shouldn’t be top of breaking news. it’s really nonsense.

Per Lara Trump: [...] It’s each delegation, so each state ultimately gets a vote.

Where does she get this idea that the House votes by state when voting on an objection to electoral votes? It is nowhere in the Constitution or in the statutes that govern this process. The House will vote by individual members as usual.

The House only votes by state in a contingent election, which only happens if no candidate receives the vote of a majority of the electors appointed.

It does seem like ammo will be the new currency.

How did we end up with .22lr being the cheapest ammo, anyways?

#4 concerns me... is that what Pelosi and McConnell are wheeling and dealing about???

not good if Pence has to turn to the rules established by Democrats and Rinos.

He can choose silence, which seems to be the case now. Or he can choose to support the ones who brought him to this dance by speaking out.

He’s caving.

Dan Quayle did a better job than this lump of coal.
