Southern California hospitals, already overwhelmed by coronavirus patients, are now facing a new problem — a shortage of oxygen, according to a report.
Officials say they’re having trouble getting the necessary amount of oxygen to critically ill coronavirus patients, with supply issues causing at least five Los Angeles County hospitals to declare an “internal disaster” on Sunday, which included turning away ambulances.

A field hospital might be the solution. If they could do it in 1918, they can do it now.
The governor is stupid and this is a lot of cr**.
CO2 has bee sequestered and is no longer available for plants to use in photosynthesis.
Besides almost all of the trees in the forest are dead, dying or burned stumps.

It appears that the oxygen supply issue is a engineering problem...lines from O2 tank freezing and reducing/cutting off flow to patient rooms.
DemocRats and Public Health officials have it in for you, California. When will you learn?
Shortages of everything abound including leadership and common sense.
FReedom and liberty, COVID kil’t ‘em.
Thanks China and all your leftist supporters in California.

Heat traced tank, temperature sensor(s), a small temperature controller, and a 24/7 contractor who works his crew. Done. Now what’s their excuse to HypeFear?
This is the simplest problem to solve...EVER... Use industrial oxygen... The standards for purity are higher for industrial oxygen than medical oxygen...
Purer oxygen, but in an ugly cylinder...
If I ever have to go on oxygen, I will use industrial oxygen..
Good excuse to kill people in order to tighten up the lockdowns.
Needs further research but so far I’m unable to find any O2 production sites in California for Linde and Air Liquide, two of the largest producers in the world.
Hard to believe with 10% of the population, no plants.
Of course when you’re strangled by regulations why would you?

There are. I can’t take a walk around the block without tripping over at least three of them. /s
You forgot a shortage of body bags and refrigerated morgue trailers. Stacking the bodies like cord wood in the parking lot has to be next. Also, this may be cutting in on the time available for hospital staff to rehearse dancing videos.
Democrats already wasting too much oxygen.
” Coronavirus patients generally need 60 to 80 liters of oxygen a minute, while other patients may receive six liters per minute.”
20 bpm x 0.5 l/b = 10 liters per minute.
... you forgot running out of PPE, ventilators and medicine.

Video contradicts government assertion of overrun wards..
Welding oxygen would work fine in a pinch. The process of getting oxygen from the air results in very pure oxygen.
There were predictions of a second wave earlier this year. If California doesn’t have enough oxygen, it’s not because of people’s behavior. Or the UK strain. Or Florida.
No, it’s because California didn’t prepare for a likely scenario. It’s because California didn’t prepare for an important scenario. It’s because California didn’t prepare for something that they had a long time to prepare for.
Lucky I got out decades ago. Too bad I’m in the Northeast.
