Two German WWII tombstones at a Texas veterans cemetery — each bearing Nazi swastikas — have been removed and replaced with new ones that do not use the symbol.
The 1943 gravestones belonging to German prisoners of war Alfred Kafka and Georg Forst at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery featured an Iron Cross with a swastika in the middle, and the phrase, “He died far from his home for the Leader (Führer), people and fatherland.”
Cemetary workers removed the stones on Wednesday.

There were a whole bunch in Wisconsins camps that decided to stay. The camps were vaguely like Hogans Heros but the roles were reversed and the prisoners didnt sneak out they just checked out and promised to come back.
Like Cemetary Ridge and Seminery Ridge at Gettysburg.
Have you ever heard of “The Wereth 11’’? Sad story.
I don't get this P.C. thing of worshipping the enemies of the U.S.?
Just wait until the muslims finish taking over France and see what they’ll do to American graves in Normandy. I think they already demonstrated a bit in Libya.
This reminds me of the destruction of Indian mound burials like Spiro in Oklahoma or Powell Mound in Illinois or all the mounds under St. Louis. It’s one thing if the descendents of the deceased want to install new headstones or memorials but wrong for those without family connections to do so, even if offended.
>>This isn’t going to end well.<<
How long before they shut down Arlington as White Privilege? Or just have a “tomb of the black unknown soldier?”
I grew up near there. There are many stories about some of the prisoners "escaping" from the camp at night to go to the local watering hole...and then going back "home" to the camp. The local population was/is majority German ancestry & it would not have been uncommon for some of the older folks to still be fluent in the language. Don't get me wrong; many of these families had sons in the war FIGHTING the Germans and they were very patriotic.
But, many of the POW's, from what I gathered were pretty damn happy to be in the camp instead of the war, & would have found the local culture to be fairly familiar. Most were sent back to Germany...I suspect not all...it would have been easy to "blend in."
German POW’s helped build Lake Texoma. There were quite a few POW’s in Oklahoma and Texas.
If they are willing to kowtow to Nazis, then they probably will be okay with sharia law.
An attack on an overseas American cemetery is an attack on America - the grounds are US territory. I hope we fight back.
Quite a few DID become American citizens and rabid ANTI-Nazis after seeing how the regime lied to them.
But that is the way of all warfare (which we are in at the moment). Cultural destruction is key.
The PLA destroyed 6,000 Tibetan temples in 1959-1961.
In 1999 the Taliban blew up the Bamyan Buddhas.
In 1975 Pol Pot and his henchmen devised Year Zero to signify the end of all previous culture.
There are countless examples of intentional cultural destruction throughout history, all with the same goal which is to destroy history and install "the new way," whatever it might be.
In America's statue destruction last summer (but long preceding and following it to this day) it became patently obvious that America was and is under domestic attack by Marxists, Communists, and just plain old anarchists. Their stated intention and their progrom is to destory American history and culture.
Simple as that. And they're not hiding it at all.
The left is rewriting the past so they have an excuse to change the present. Reason enough to stop any such efforts .
[“I was one of the lucky ones’’ he told me.]
My grandfather was one of the lucky ones. He escaped in a balloon during the Jimmy Carter Presidency.
Many German POW’s were assigned to work as farm laborers. The farmers sometimes let them drive the farm trucks into town to pick up supplies at the general store. Nazi flags and framed photos of Hitler were allowed to be placed on the walls INSIDE the prisoner’s barracks at prison camps. The US government allowed that. Trying to deny history is wrong and stupid.
[Stop the removal of the historical artifacts. It’s juvenile.]
Of course it is. It’s what the Left specialize in. Ridiculous agendas and methods. They’ll eventually be eaten by the monsters they created and enabled.
Like those before them, by the time they figure it out (if ever) it will be far, far too late to reverse it.
This is Kafkaesque.
There is a movie about the POW camps with Roy Scheider. “The Good War.”
I think it’s part of a cultural brainwashing. “Everything you knew to be true is wrong.”
Well stated and accurate in reasoning.
We are being swamped (no pun) by conflicting information, psyops, and weak minded individuals that have one target.
They want to keep those who can think for themselves busy with dealing with trying to correct the garbage they have rained upon us All.
