That is the ultimate in Christmas songs. So uplifting! Thank you for sharing with us tonight. We’ve missed you!
Mmmm...broccoli cassarole. That sounds so good! We’re having a grilled ribeye, baked sweet taters and asparagus.
Is that really Pandy? What a darling face! I don’t know how she breathes though!
It’s going to start smelling good shortly because it’s in the oven now. I guess I should be grateful Hubby doesn’t want the scalloped potatoes I had planned to do tonight too. He just wants mashed potatoes. Saves some time tonight but I was really in the mood for scalloped. LOL
Your meal sounds scrumptious. Can I come over and eat with y’all? LOL
I’d asked Hubby if he’d like a ribeye but he said he wanted a ham. He’ll get a lot of meals from the ham because most will be bagged up and in the freezer for later eating. It’s been over a year since the last ham so I have no problem with it.
This is our first Christmas fully moved into this house. We were just getting started this time last year.
Yes, that’s really Pandy. We miss her a lot, the silly girl. We lost her last year. Old age took its toll. She was so funny and had a great personality.
Everyone laughed at her funny face. You don’t see smash-faced Persians much any more. All I’ve seen for a long time have longer noses. Her poor tongue was made for a full face, not a half face, and it always stuck out. LOL
Merry Christmas, Kathy......
What a cozy Christmas in that house where it’s nice and warm and the breeze doesn’t come in through the window sills or under the doors. I’ll bet it smells so good in there!
We buy presliced Hormel hams. Just easier that way. I repackage them and put some in the freezer while eating on some of it. I love it for sammiches and just cold with tater salad.
She was a sweetie....but I did feel sorry for those poor animals being bred like that. I’ll bet she was a lovey.
Pics from Comanche Lake yesterday:
It’s definitely more comfortable in this house and I just love the kitchen. It has so many cabinets and drawers, which were SORELY lacking in the old house.
It does smell mighty good right now. I wanted to dive into the casserole when I pulled it out of the oven but did manage to fight the temptation. LOL
Hubby’s picky about ham. We’ve usually gotten a ham from the Honey Baked Ham store in the past for holidays but those things are so expensive. The one I got was on recommendation by a friend who said these are just as good as the Honey Baked ones so we’ll see. It’s a LOT less expensive. It’s pre-cooked but has to be heated thoroughly, slowly, so it’s kinda like just baking one to begin with. The glaze that comes with it goes on late in the process. It’s bone-in and spiral-cut so it’ll be easy to bag up afterwards.
Pandy was a very lovable cat. Her previous owner obviously gave her a lot of loving while she had her but when she got ill, she couldn’t keep her any more.
But boy, was she high-maintenance! I had to wash her face all the time because of her tongue handing out. It got real dirty around her mouth And hair was so fine it was like spider web silk and if she wasn’t brushed daily it knotted up. The first summer we had her, I cut her hair somewhat short, which she loved, and by wintertime it was long again to keep her warm. She was so funny when she’d get her haircuts. She’d prance around the house.
I do miss that ol’ girlie. She was a trip.
THE BALTIMORE CONSORT
Lots of fun music.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ)) Merry Christmas to you and Gizmo.
It looks like y’all had a lovely day for a romp at the lake yesterday. I hope you didn’t have to layer up too much in order to be able to stay out there. It’s downright cold here now that the rain has come and gone. I looked out a few minutes ago and there are a few snow flakes on Hubby’s truck.
I see Gizmo found a smelly spot to roll in. LOL
Did your sister take a yummy Christmas dinner for you to enjoy?
Handel: “Messiah”
Always a pleasure for listening. And an extra pleasure reading about it. Thanks, Publius!!
Hope your friend is doing well, and your care is making things easier.
Merry Christmas!!
Here In western PA. it's about 2:00am ......The snow falling beautifully on this very Quiet and Holy Night...... gathering about 3 inches now, covering the streets and roof tops, there is not a sound in the air. I expect morning will bring a very White Christmas indeed.....
I have never been able to sleep well Christmas Eve....I anticipate this Quiet night every year. Recalling raising my children and wrapping gifts til the wee hours of the morning. Then after they now have children of their own I've been their second Santa...bringing loads of gifts to their homes year after year.
...But this year Covid has struck our family.....a couple have died in their elder years. Two younger members in their early 20's have recovered but still with no sense of taste or smell. So it was decided "Grammy" should not be exposed and too dangerous, especially with one son working in the hospital exposed to covid patients.
So I'm alone this year and interesting enjoying this quiet and beautiful night. God is good and fills us with Joy anyway. Just sharing this night.....and trust all will celebrate this greatest event ever in History! The birth of our Savior Jesus and Coming King!
May the Lord God bless you all with Love and Joy!
Hope you and Mrs Mayor had a wonderful evening with your in-laws.
And get some rest before the little ones are there. d:o)
Oh yeah, we had an AWESOME supper yesterday. We still have plenty of it left so it’s going to be a spectacular Christmas.
