Four fatal shootings in the past week have pushed Portland’s homicides to 53 this year, marking the most killings in the city since the early 1990s.

Since Saturday, four people of color have been gunned down in Northeast, North and Southeast Portland – including 23-year-old Uber driver Dhulfiqar Kareem Mseer, 44-year-old marijuana dispensary employee Michael Arthur, 16-year-old Abdushukri Uren who died in a blocks-long gun battle and 53-year-old Kelley Marie Smith, who was killed in front of her husband in a gang crossfire shooting.

Black Lives Matter is going to be all over this right? Protests, riots, media coverage. No?

I watched this powerful documentary about recent events in Seattle last night: The Fight for the Soul of Seattle | A KOMO News Documentary.

It was made in Seattle, and is quite hard-hitting, although everyone interviewed in it is a left-wing Democrat. They can't ignore the obvious, although the terms "Democrat," "Republican," "liberal," and "conservative" are not used and do not appear anywhere within it.

They don't have to, really. The conceptual framework is obvious, and it's interesting how ordinary Seattle citizens are being dragged into reality by bitter experience.
