Oregon’s Democratic Governor Kate Brown announced this week that she is extending her state of emergency declaration until March, claiming that “these are the darkest days of this pandemic.”
The declaration was set to expire on January 2, but it has now been extended sixty more days to March 3. The state of emergency declaration allows Brown to enact executive orders banning business operations and closing schools.
Brown defended her decision to extend this by citing a surge in COVID-19 cases in the state.
“As we near 100,000 cases of COVID-19 in Oregon, and with hospitals and health care workers stretched to their limits, there is no doubt that COVID-19 continues to pose a public health threat,” Brown said in a press release. “We continue to lose too many Oregonians to this deadly disease, including over 100 reported deaths in the last two days.”

Let’s presume for the sake of argument that these is some rational scientific reason for the lock down now (which I am NOT making the argument for), but then by what “science” is there any rationale for, AT THIS TIME, extending it to March? There is none.
A Facebook friend sent me a video of Kris Anne Hall discussing the Oregon Governor’s powers in an emergency. All she could find was authorization to spend extra money in any emergency. This is flagrantly unconstitutional.

Are they???
Only as far as March?
Might as well extend it to 2030.
NevaDUH gov sissypants has the state on a 25% capacity limit currently until 1/15/2021. Unless we still misbehave and he decides sooner to tighten up again. We HAVE been warned. One of our assemblymen said when they get back in session he will propose restrictions on the ‘emergency powers’ rules to limit them to three weeks and then the legislature has to meet to go beyond that. Knowing the make up of our legislators, it’ll be a long uphill push.
The majority of deaths in most countries can be attributed to causes that feature a distinct seasonal pattern. The figure depicts the relative monthly frequencies of nine selected causes of death in the United States for women and men combined for the years 1959–2014. The reported number of counts in parentheses in the title of each panel is the actual number of deaths.
Viruses gonna virus. Even non-viruses gonna non-virus.
The only thing that will cause an abatement is the vernal equinox, not a deepened loss of liberty. This may be why the Guv is talking about March when - surprise - the intensity of death falls back to earth. However, assuming this virus is going to be with us until The End (which is what I'm thinking), we should push back and say NO to these infringements and grow a pair/learn to live with the bug just like we do with influenza, bad TV shows, and of course Springsteen.
One can only hope that the day will come when we can Mussolini these pukes for the damage they have done to the citizenry they represent

How much more needless suffering can those people take?
Only "Until March?" Well, relative to the mega-genius, mega-Democrat, mega-billionaire Bill Gates, who said conditions won't improve until 2022, I guess we could almost consider the Oregon Governor to be on our side.
March of what year?
Only another 387 years to flatten the curve. We’re getting there.
The original 15 days will go down in history as the biggest camel nose under the tent ever.
Past time to the people lock down EVERYTHING. No restaurants, no grocery stores, no gas stations, NOTHING. Businesses are going broke; what do they have left to lose.
I was hoping to see the seasonal swing of bad TV shows and Springsteen in your graphs. Just the other night, yep, there was Springsteen doing his silly rendition of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” on SNL. Not that I watch SNL anymore. Just caught it flipping through bad TV shows.
Sadly, Springsteen is the 15th best-selling artist in America behind the Stones but ahead of Madonna. I don't deny the man his popularity but, boy does his music suck. And this "working man" anti-Trump/pro Dem jackwagon and his second wife and equestrian daughter are the epitome of "white priviledge."
You can’t social distance during lesbian orgies Kate
