Conservative radio legend Rush Limbaugh provided listeners with a health update on Tuesday after being diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in February.
"Every day remains a gift," Limbaugh said. "You know, I wake up every morning, and I thank God that I did."
He told listeners that in the future he will likely need to take some days off for “rest or for whatever medical challenges present themselves.”
“But the fact that I’m able to get back here and be with you is a genuine blessing, and I appreciate it and I appreciate your understanding throughout all of this,” he added. "As we say, everything’s day-to-day, and especially in the circumstances I find myself in."
The radio host, who was awarded the Medal of Freedom during President Trump’s State of the Union address this year, wanted fans to know that on days he has to take off, he wishes he could be with them: “And that when those days occur, that I will do what I can to get back as quickly as is possible."
At the end of October he offered a “somber” update that scans showed the “progression of cancer.”
“It’s tough to realize that the days where I do not think I’m under a death sentence are over,” he said. “We all know that we’re going to die at some point, but when you have a terminal disease diagnosis that has a time frame to it, then that puts a different psychological and even physical awareness to it.”
Limbaugh told listeners his strength now rests in his faith in Jesus Christ.
“I try to remain committed to the idea what’s supposed to happen, will happen when it’s meant to,” he said. “I mentioned at the outset of this — the first day I told you — that I have personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is of immense value, strength, confidence, and that’s why I’m able to remain fully committed to the idea that what is supposed to happen will happen when it’s meant to."
Prayers for Rush ....
Terrible, prayers to him and his family. And prayers for our nation who he helped guide by counteracting the corrupt media intent on destroying our nation.
God Bless you Rush Limbaugh.
Prayers for Rush!
Witness Rush’s faith in Our Lord and Savior, Jesus hold him close as he comes home to You.
God bless Rush. I wish he knew how much his life’s work means to my family and others.
AMEN and AMEN!
I saw a recent picture of rush. Shocking is too mild a word for how I felt. When I think of how he looked just a few months ago when he excepted the Medal of Freedom from President Trump to what he looks like now. He has lost so much weight and looks 20 years older.
Prayers Rush. Always Loved you!
Please God grant a miracle of healing in mind body and spirit for our beloved friend Rush Limbaugh in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” -Hebrews 9:27

It may be easy for someone not at death’s door to post the above scripture, but it’s still true. Rush is at a place that everyone will eventually be at (assuming they don’t die suddenly of an unexpected accident).
Rush has been so impactful for conservtive ideas and causes over his life, that it’s hard to imagine the world without him. When the Lord calls him forth from this world, I beleive that the Master will tell him “well done.”
Amen. What a comfort and peace knowing Jesus brings; even in the midst of tribulation and sorrow.
I think he was waiting for that too and had expected by now to be enjoying what time he had left with his wife on a beach, since the hard fight would have been won.
Yet there he is now, showing up when he can and still fighting for Trump with every fiber of his being. His voice still sounds as vigorous as it ever has.
I would probably still be a liberal if it were not for Rush. A friend of mine turned me on to Rush in 1990, I’ve listened ever since. God bless you , Rush.
He sounds weak at times and the pain killers have slowed his wonderful mind. He still is the best analyst in the country.
Here is a man who’s life is a testimony. His actions speak for him, which is an irony in that his contribution is through his speech.
I was saddened when he revealed his hearing loss. I know personally the impact that hearing loss has on one's life and those around him. It was a miracle of otoneurological science that the was fitted with implants that allowed him to hear.
He will soon experience prefect hearing.
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 21 who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself. Philippians 3:20,21
Rush is giving his final full measure. I am honored to know him.
