Breaking! Georgia Supreme Court rejects Trump's last minute appeal

ATLANTA (AP) — President Donald Trump has lost his latest legal challenge seeking to overturn Georgia’s election results, with the state Supreme Court’s rejection late Saturday of a case from Trump’s campaign and Georgia Republican Party Chairman David Shafer.

The suit - similar to other Trump team legal challenges, which made baseless allegations of widespread fraud in Georgia’s presidential election - was initially filed Dec. 4, then rejected by the Fulton County Superior Court because the paperwork was improperly completed and it lacked the appropriate filing fees.

The case was subsequently appealed directly to the state Supreme Court, asking justices to consider the case before Monday’s meeting of the Electoral College. In a brief order, justices wrote that “petitioners have not shown that this is one of those extremely rare cases that would invoke our original jurisdiction.”

Many are pristine and shrink-wrapped. It looks like they didn’t need to use them.

Because the argument right now is that Biden is inevitable.

People make decisions on what the believe to be inevitable.

Being a judge is a good job, pays well, lots of prestige, and while they are elected in Georgia, justices usually run unoposed. Would be a shame to make a controversial decision that results in organized opposition and loss of all that money, power, and prestige. Let someone else do it.@@@@@

Saw a show on the old west where the statement was made “ It doesn’t matter how good a Marshall or Sherrif is, YOU ONLY HAVE AS MUCH JUSTICE AS YOU HAVE JUDGE!”

We are only a nation of laws if Justice is Blind and Judges are willing to uphold the law. We will know shortly if our courts have passed the point of no return.......

” It’s apparent that no court will accept anything from the Trump team nationwide.”

I’ve been saying this for quite some time: the courts want NOTHING to do with any cases involving the 2020 election.

“Over the next five weeks Trump should declassify everything and give these Constitution-hating b@stards more than a taste of their own immorality.”

Yup.

No court has considered - let alone decided - the merits of the our lawsuit contesting the election. We appealed to the Supreme Court because Fulton Superior Court has yet to assign the case to a judge with authority to hear it. The lawsuit remains alive.

There were 226 original jurisdiction lawsuits, 120 state and federal appeals and 35 appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court.

I had no idea... Was Donald Trump involved in any of them?

Not in any lawsuit. He did say that he had investigators in Hawaii looking in to Obama’s birth certificate.

They clearly see that the facts can’t be disputed.

Especially the 66K underage voters. That would require corrupt election officials and/or hacking or manipulation of the eligible voters list.

Probably both.

Ratburger and Sterling could easily knock down the underage voters if it was wrong. But they don’t.

So the the courts in Georgia are deliberately in foot dragging mode so they can delare the case moot and too late. So the facts never get an airing.

I know they won’t! I just up to the Supreme Court because that is the appeal process! The majority of the judicial system is corrupt! This whole journey that we have been on since election day is showing the American people how corrupt politicians, businesses especially Big Tech, media are. And I have a feeling President Trump will be showing more directly as well as indirectly.

Either the President can burn it all down under Constitutional rights and drain the swamp in one fell swoop, or we die as a nation.

No idea what you believe "one fell swoop" envisions.

Wish I could get someone to make a bet for $100 (or more or less) to Free Republic that 1) There will be no declaration of "martial law" and 2) A President will take office per the 20th Amendment on January 20.

Please read Federalist No. 49.
