President Trump on Friday signed an order giving federal workers a paid day off work on Christmas Eve.
The news was a welcome surprise for workers who expected at most a half day.
Trump’s order says, “All executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government shall be closed and their employees excused from duty on Thursday, December 24, 2020, the day before Christmas Day.”
Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton only gave half days when Christmas fell on a Friday, as it does this year...

Federal employees work?
And everybody who works for a living has to pay their salaries through taxes has to work.
Be nice to have some home if we do a Christmas Eve mass arrest.
Yes, we do. Some more than others.
Why aren’t they shut down, like everyone else? Not ALL federal workers are essential. Why do they not get laid off? Or furloughed?
Good enough for everyone else, but not those with their nose in the trough.
Let’s see how many NeverTrumpers refuse to take this new holiday.

Fed gov employees get beat up here pretty good here I’ve noticed. I Just retired from the DoD after 30 years attached to the Navy warfighter and had the honor and privilage of working with a whole lot of military veterans, many of which left parts and pieces of their bodies (and minds) all over the world protecting our freedoms, so please be careful how broad that brush is your paintin’ with there my friend.
Having said that I would agree there are plenty of sluggo’s in federal civil service...the reason they are still there is the system allows it.
Anyway my 1st impression of this is the POTUS is poking the liberal atheists in the eye. Just my 2 cent.
At least those federal employees who are active duty members of the armed forces do.
Don’t worry, the Harris/Biden administration will work unceasingly to close down the military branches under the theory that this country does not need defending by military force.

I work for USPS and my “non-serves” are Fri and Sat. I am due to get Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve off as a “substitute holiday” since the actual holidays fall on one of my off-days. So I’ll be off anyway....
