Statement of Justice Alito, with whom Justice Thomas joins: In my view, we do not have discretion to deny the filing of a bill of complaint in a case that falls within our original jurisdiction. See Arizona v. California, 589 U. S. ___ (Feb. 24, 2020) (Thomas, J., dissenting). I would therefore grant the motion to file the bill of complaint but would not grant other relief, and I express no view on any other issue.
POTUS is the High Sheriff per our Constitution. Optics wise, it would be better for him to act before the Electoral Vote on Monday to restore confidence in our election process. The situation calls for a do-over!
If it can be proved beyond a doubt in court that the “big guy” is Joe Biden and that the Biden syndicate is corrupt and beholden to China...before January 20...the state electors might have an easier time of it. One could hardly expect them to vote into the presidency, a man under indictment for high crimes.
And it doesn’t even depend on a conviction before January 20. Nor does it depend on the SCOTUS.

Their response was that Texas did not have standing.
They were apparently right.
SCOTUS had no business teasing us with that demand for a response... but they are saying that everything they did was a technical requirement to go through the motions because one state sued another.

But it seems to me that the perception of a lot of people is simply that the system has broken down. Thus they no longer care about it.
There has to be justice, but there also has to be the appearance of justice in order for people to keep people supporting the system.
If the court had followed Thomas and Alito and at least considered it, I think people would have been patient, although probably prepared for the worst.
But it’s wrong and insulting to tell 20 some states that they don’t have standing. Their votes were diluted (and some of these states had actually gone for Biden) because they played by the rules while those four states did whatever was in the interests of their political masters and got away with it. This makes people seriously disinclined to either vote or follow the rules. Not a good thing in a country where the rule of law supposedly prevails.
ONLY Thomas & Alito would hear it.
This is why COURT PACKING was put forth by Biden & co.
Perhaps the Court decided it was better to remain nine and outlast Biden than have their little corner diluted and politicized by Democrats expanding the Court.

Who is even surprised. The New World Order is all in and will not be denied. I am sure all of the conservtives on SCOTUS were either threatened or their families were threatened.
Worse still, the vote for the Georgia Senate seats are guaranteed to be stolen, and the Democratic Party will have 2 more U.S. Senators. Anybody who still believes there is even the most remote possiblity that either Republican will win election for U.S. Senator is either a fool or just plain stupid.
POTUS has at least four active election contests that have been filed sort of under the radar:
-There is one in Wisconsin (10 EV), which the Wisconsin supreme court is set to hear tomorrow.
-There is one in Georgia (16 EV), which has a better chance of success than Sidney P or Lin Wood's suits, precisely because POTUS is a party to this suit, suing in his personal capacity.
-There is one in Nevada (6 EV), which the NV supreme court rejected, making it now prime for appeal to the SCOTUS.
-There is another one in Arizona (11 EV), which the AZ supreme court rejected, and which AZ GOP Chairwoman Kelli Ward said they were appealing to SCOTUS.

Do you consider bullying election observers, manipulating votes is secret, or keeping legal election observers too far away to be able to verify signatures and postmarks, to be "fair and square?" Be honest.
It wasn't fair or square. He got beat but you cannot read the specifics of the Texas case and come away finding it "fair & square."
They out played the Republicans by doing what do best... finding ways to skirt the law and bully to get their way and, the final straw, we see courts being unwilling to examine election issues all hiding behind "standing" ... Apparently no one has standing, not legislatures, not candidates, not states, not voters.
Mail ballot scams will become omnipresent and we'll never be able to stop them.
