Flight attendants on Chinese flights were advised to start wearing disposable diapers as a protective measure against COVID-19.
CNN Travel reports that the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) announced late in November new guidelines for COVID-19 protocol among airlines traveling to high-risk areas. The guidelines list the usual protective measures such as medical masks and gloves; some items even list goggles and disposable shoe covers.
But it was the mention of the disposable diapers that inspired the most chatter. The document states, “It is recommended that cabin crew members wear disposable diapers and avoid using the lavatories barring special circumstances to avoid infection risks.”
This recommendation was only given to the flight attendants; the pilots and other crew members are supposedly good with just the goggles.
The airline industry has suffered a tremendous blow throughout the pandemic as travel restrictions have tightened throughout the globe.
There’s also the matter of people’s concerns with flying on an airplane during the pandemic: being so close to strangers in an enclosed space with recycled air arouses skepticism with regards to just how safe airplane travel may be at the moment.
Fox Business states that airline capacity has significantly decreased. Although there have been a number of incidents in which airplane passengers have spread the disease to others, Fox Business additionally reports there is yet to be any concrete evidence that an airplane’s environment is a catalyst for a super-spreading event.
However, in this light the thought of flight attendants donning diapers to avoid spreading the infection may not be such an outrageous idea.
Where will those diapers be worn?
The usual place kids use, or on face or some other body parts?
Bring your own jug of Febreeze!
Helping you stay Lavender fresh as you scoot up and down those narrow airplane aisles while wearing your full diaper.
Sounds like a Second City TV skit.
Eau d’pooh!
summer’s eve
At least the noise in the airplane will hide the farting sounds.
Smexy
I had to check three times
this is NOT going to work out the way they think it is.
Grown adults pass a LOT of liquid.
Those diapers ain’t holdin sh*t!
Will Fang Fang when she Bang Bang?
I would advise any idiot fool enough to suggest a flight attendant wear and use diapers GO TRY IT YOURSELF!... in the privacy of your own home... before “advising” that a flight attendant to the same in the midst of hundreds of passengers!
“Let’s see if we can get them to wear diapers down there too.”
Unless the sh*t is diarrhea I think you have your fluids mixed up.
There must be bodies everywhere.
Either way, your going to have a serious mess on your hands within seconds after relieving yourself.... placing you right in the place you were supposed to avoid, only now you will have to spend 10-15 minutes cleaning up yourself AND the bathroom.
I’ll bet $100 that the idiot who came up with this never had kids.
Kids? No. Just one child.
CA, NY, MD, MI, CT, NJ, CO, NV, MA, GA, & PA governors will undoubtedly seize upon this idea and require that all sheeple wear diapers...
Might as well... With what is coming just about everyone will be pissing and crapping their pants all the time...
Fortunately, the lines to the ovens will not require them...
That would "stop the spread". /s
They decided that chastity belts were impractical due to the metal, and also too expensive, so figured that diapers were such a turn off that they would work.
