Kyle Rittenhouse to Stand Trial on 6 Counts Tied to Kenosha

A judge ruled Thursday that 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse will stand trial on six counts tied to events that occurred in Kenosha, Wisconsin, August 25, 2020.

Rittenhouse was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, and attempted first-degree intentional homicide following the August 25th deaths of Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during riots sparked by the police-involved shooting of Jacob Blake. Rittenhouse allegedly shot three people, two of whom succumbed to their wounds.

Is there a law of which I’m unaware? Thousands of kids 17 and younger go hunting in Wisconsin every year armed with a firearm.

Great idea. My wife just got called up for jury duty and was pretty depressed about it. I’ll remind her.

Damn, I debated passing that info along due to the 'inconvenience' of serving jury duty. I was actively pursuing my own case in court and had no time for jury duty as well. Your wife has the golden opportunity to participate in a US citizen's greatest duties; to vote, and to serve on a jury. I seriously hope there is a solid reason other than inconvenience for her to forego jury duty (this time around).

I’m just parroting what I’ve heard regarding the law in that state. It may be the specifics, like a kid driving a car with a learner’s permit, but there is nobody else in the car, or something like that.

Have you read the charges filed by the DA? Hell, the defense could/will use that to exonerate him.

The Wisconsin law has 3 exceptions. Kyle is exempt under (3)(c).
