California Gov. Gavin Newsom introduced a new regional stay-at-home order on Thursday, days after he said that most of the state’s intensive care beds could be over capacity within weeks amid a surge in coronavirus cases.
The order, which will be applied by region, will require bars, wineries, hair salons and other nonessential businesses across five areas to close for three weeks once the region’s intensive care capacity falls below 15 percent, he said.

Check this statement out, In a stark message, Newsom said the effects of Thanksgiving travel and celebrations still haven’t been felt, and that residents should expect a “surge on top of a surge” in cases within weeks.
“We really need to step up,” he said. “We need to do everything we can to stem the tide.”
He is blaming the people of California because of thanksgiving gatherings. But he goes out to dinner without a mask.
“Royal Decree”
I think I saw in the article state wide travel bad. Whatever that means.
99% survival rate. Californians deserve this lunacy for voting for these dictatorial liberals for decades.
Aw crap...this means it’s coming to Oregon
I submit to you all that Newsom is “NON-essential!”
Did he simply change the appropriate wording from LA ‘mare’ garbagecetti’s decree?
The hospitals have had nine months to add beds and staff.
The rest of America should not be suffering for their incompetence.
Good luck Governor Newsom
Ohio basically has done that...listing itself as one of the travel-restricted aka quarantine or negative test states.
There must be bodies everywhere.
So what is the percentage of folks in the ICUs that are there for Covid?
In Harris County Texas, the Phase 1 ICU is at 90% I believe, somewhere around 1300 people, of that 22% are there for Covid.
There are PhaseII and PhaseII ICUs that are an additional 1k or approximate beds, those as of yesterday were less that 50% full, and the Covid only people were right around 20%.
That is just for ICU capacity, there are thousands of additional beds available.
I can’t believe that it can be structured that much differently in California that it is in Texas.
This seems pretty severe of an action to take.
Looks like I need to keep my “F*ck you, Gavin Newsom” face muzzle handy in case I’m ordered by someone with a gun tells me I must “put on a mask.” OK ... I will.
“Good luck Governor Newsom”
CA has jumped the shark with so many rules, regulations and laws that NOBODY complies with any of them anymore.
It will be interesting to see how he plans to enforce a “Statewide travel ban” which is only briefly mentioned in news reports. I do not believe the Governor has the power to close airports nor do I think police will agree to detain motorists who travel outside their arbitrary home zone.
I look forward to a slew of court cases and more decisions that invalidate these unconstitutional restrictions on liberty.
If the media and the sheep who follow the melodrama would just STFU for a month, this thing would go away. People are being conditioned... it’s like a religious cult... even FReepers breathlessly post a bunch of worthless, misleading numbers related to this year’s annual flu.
Are illegal transgendered disabled aliens exempt?
Sooo...since this site is hosted in California and the majority of the donors to the site are also from California, maybe shut up.
Bite me a-hole. CA is insane by its own doing. I merely point out fact and you get your feelings hurt. CA is dragging the rest of the country down with it. See Arizona. Eff your feelings and fix your state.
